This band, and their entire discography have aged so poorly, it’s astonishing. Americans just don't get them. A bit like how RHCP aren't appreciated as much as they should be in the UK.

First gig in 3 years tonight. They usually play new songs on the first gig ahead of a new album

Nice setlist, but zero new songs played last night, after 3 years that's a little surprising:
Do I Wanna Know? Brianstorm Snap Out of It Crying Lightning Teddy Picker Potion Approaching Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High? Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino Arabella Fireside Pretty Visitors Library Pictures Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair The View From the Afternoon Do Me a Favour One Point Perspective One for the Road 505 Cornerstone I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor R U Mine?

Pretty heavy set from what I saw/hear from the livestreams on various Instagram accounts that were there. They're doing that thing where a band's albums and live shows are completely different versions of the same band. From what we've heard, the new record is a continuation of the TBH&C style, or there abouts anyway. Then the first show of the AM7 era comes out hard and heavy.
I remember taking a friend to see Ryan Adams & The Cardinals live way back when, and the show was heavy as fuck. When my friend got their record (Cardinology, I believe...or Easy Tiger) he was disappointed since the sound was so different. Must be tough to exist in those two spheres.
Hoping for a new tune at the show today.

New song: I Ain't Quite Where I Think I Am
According to some fan accounts on twitter this won't be the first single from the new album, which will be probably announced today. Release date for the album is October 21.

No new single with album announcement and pre sales is always weird to me.

Polite reminder that Arctic Monkeys are the best band since Oasis and this album will be another masterpiece.

Polite reminder that Arctic Monkeys are the best band since Oasis and this album will be another masterpiece. Probably won't be a popular opinion here... but I think AM are better than Oasis. I prefer Oasis more and they hold more nostalgia in my heart, but AM were far better at evolving their sound and IMO make much more dynamic and multifacted music. I also think they were absolutely brilliant at album structure and choosing what goes where on a record and what makes the cut. Definitely my two favourite bands though.

They never came near to write something like DLBIA or Live Forever, Slide Away...

Music will also 99% be like that. I hope that is that case because that is what I want from them or from any band.

The cover reminds me slightly of the Go Let It Out cover, but instead of lads having a kick about on a roof, its just The Car instead, Will probably get to hear a few of these when they play Reading and Leeds this weekend you would imagine. Well maybe a couple at least.

Yeah, I am now definitely sure that they don't give a fuck at all. It would be nice that everyone from UK help and that we win this battle even if the arist don't care. So, let's go Taylor, let's win this!

They were fantastic at the weekend, a great great live performance.
More mature and smooth as has been the case over the last decade but somehow still as frenetic as before. Almost contradictory qualities but they somehow pull it off.

New song is we don't give a shit what you think about it, we love it. Matt made album cover, Alex directed video for first single. Full DIY approach. Mirrorball is beatiful but I believe there would be no big singles and that it would work perfect as part of brilliant album.

I really like this one. They described the album as a more "down to earth TBHAC" and I can understand why. It gave me late Beatles vibes even though they don't sound similar.

I don't know what to think about this They were one of my favourite bands growing up and while I don't think Tranquility is a bad record it was a bit sad to see it had basically zero re-listening value to me bar a couple of tunes (Four Out of Five and The Ultracheese) This new track seems to be on the same wavelenght as the previous record and I assume that's the sound they're going with Again, it's not bad by any means, but I can't get myself to love it I'm glad they're exploring and doing what they want, but it's so weird to grow out of love for something you've cheerished for so long Will still look forward to the record, maybe it will surprise me and I'll have my eureka moment with this new direction
