I said before and I’ll say it again, ‘Suck It and See’ is their best album. It has aged very well because they went for a classic sound. Not to mention fantastic songs like the title song, That’s Where You’re Wrong, Hellcat, Black Treacle, She’s Thunderstorms, Reckless Seranade... every song is great. It boggles my mind how people dislike it and how members on here dismiss this album as it is the closest sounding AM album to Oasis. Go back and listen. The songs are fine but the recordings and arrangements are dull as dishwater. Turner croons his way through everything, hardly ever altering his vocal melody lines. It's just guitars and drums and bass all the time; there's no quirky keyboard parts or cool electronic drum pads like with the latest one. There's very little of interest in it, for me, although I do still like the songs. I've said this before, but I swear Suck it and See sounds more like a bunch of fifty-year-olds getting the band back together to record their thirteenth album than it does twenty-somethings recording their fourth. Where's the energy and the sense of fun? Why so lumpen?

Where's the energy and the sense of fun? Why so lumpen? Obviously I have the complete opposite opinion to you. I find the album has a lot energy and the straight forward production and simple structure (to a certain extent) of the songs was a breath of fresh air from Turner who I think was guilty of over complicating certain songs previously.

I like 'Anyways'. A couple of the lyrics made me laugh out loud when I heard it first.
They made the right decision not including it on the album, though.

Good watch.
That being said, Arctic Monkeys have always been big in the US, the first real band to use the internet to their benefit. Tranquility Base Hotel Whatever the fuck it’s called, still fucking sucks.

Definitely doesn't surprise me.

New album finished, not mixed or mastered yet. They'll announce live dates soon, headliners for some festivals during summer 2022.

They've announced a few European dates for August next year so I guess an album announcement will soon follow.

Read some rumours that the new album is going to continue the Tranquility Base sound, which I would love. Alex Turner could turn pretty much anything into gold, but I feel like the TBHC/Everything You Have Come to Expect kind of songs are the most outstanding.

We must be due for an announcement on the new album soon? With festivals in the summer I would expect a single by May/June?
Music event of the year for me

This band, and their entire discography have aged so poorly, it’s astonishing. I think I agree with you when speaking of their first two albums and AM. The rest has aged well.
