Watched them at Rock Werchter on sunday. First of all, their young fanbase that came from England is unbearable. Second, they lost majority of the crowd with poor festival setlist and waaaay too long pauses between songs. Third, I fucking loved it, sang my soul out. 505 as a last song of a 4 day festival is always a good thing Are you going to Sziget festival?

Have friends doing all 7 days, wanted to join them for AM but I have no idea if I'll manage. You?

They played Elvis Costello & The Attraction's 'Lipstick Vogue' at a concert the other night, after it came out Elvis has had an operation to remove a tumour and is now in recovery. Elvis sends his thanks:

I think Alex's singing has improved so much since the early days. He sounds fantastic on the title track which is also my favourite song on the album.

If only Noel got his wallet out and made videos half as good as this one, then people might actually watch them.

0:50 works a treat. Cool video. That empty casino looks great. Did you see the ceiling @ 0:38? Amazing luck them managing to find that. Or maybe Alex was aware of it before he designed the cover artwork?? They should make another video in this style, maybe in another month's time when people are starting to forget about the record. Would love them to do 'Star Perspective', as it's me favourite tune on the album, but 'Science Fiction' would be a good one to do as well. The lyrics for that are chock-a-block with great imagery you could exploit for a video. Maybe leave the swamp monster with a hard-on out of it, though.

Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino is almost a masterpiece. Amazing album and btw, AM sound better than before, their TRNSMT performance was unreal!!!! and what a crowd!!! totally insane!!! Scottish crowds, along with the Irish and South Americans, are the best in the world. If you put on a show for them, they will give the love back a million times over. TBH&C, is fantastic. I said give it time to settle and people will enjoy it more. It's not a first time and you get it listen. Star Treatment, One Point Perspective, Four out Five, Batphone, the title track and Ultracheese are some of the best things they've done. Plus the two videos work into the concept very well, how can they make a concept album about a hotel so interesting. A brave move that's paid off. Plus probably best Lyrics he's done.

I reckon he's shaved his head for the next video, as it seems he's playing different characters. I love in the new video, when it gets to the chorus he talks into the phone, especially the bit when he coolly runs up the stairs and sings into the phone. So clean shaven Alex is the character of Mark I'm guessing. I'm loving the style of the new videos. I think One Point Perspective is the one I love to see released next, just to see Turner croon in some run down Las Vegas joint. But even if they don't release it as a single, I like to see a video for Star Treatment as it really deserves one.

I adore the album. I'm always listening to it with my gf. Pretty underrated tbh Back in the day before iTunes and such, people would have listened to the album over and over, everyone is in a rush now. Nowadays some listen to it once, and that's it. Nobody has the patience. As I said before, when I first heard it. I knew it would get some negativity cause it's the total opposite of AM, it's a grower while AM hits you on first listen. But it seems now some have grown to love it over the last two months.

My girlfiend doesn't love music as much as I do,but even her thinks that the more you listen to it the more you like it.

I think that I've listened this album more than any AM album. Not sure why though.

This is my favourite Arctic Monkeys album, I actually think it's a masterpiece. Its the definition of a 'grower' album. The first time I heard it I was very underwhelmed, couldn't hear any hooks, just thought it was Alex rambling about space and cocktails for the whole album. I kept wanting to put it back on though for some reason and now I think the complete opposite. It's actually quite a melodic album and it does have choruses they just don't function in the way the chorus in songs like Don't Look Bank in Anger do. The lyrics are the best things he's done in a long time too, very interesting and I like the theme that runs through most songs. I'm surprised people don't rave on about it being a concept album because people seem to love concept albums for some reason. The music is pretty amazing too, great bass. You really have to listen to it on a decent set up and not through you computer speakers.
The only songs i'm not keen on is Golden Trunks with my favourites being American Sports and Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino.
Who knows where they will go next

When I listened to the album in it's entirety most of it didn't stick. However, when I listen to the songs individually I love them. The most predictable choices, which are the title song and Four Out Of Five, remain my favourites though. Also, nothing wrong with space and cocktails
