Feels like it could have been filmed from a old 70's episode of Old Grey Whistle Test doesn't it. Interesting, it looks like the SCYHO promo video, both videos used the same old camera and equipments I guess.

What a beautiful delivery of One Point Perspective. I like Alex a lot more when he's playing guitar.

That sound means it's the end of the round, time for the bonus question...

I've started to get into it after 4-5 listens on my laptop, so I think it's worth buying the vinyl and then I can judge it for real. It's just such an unusual album but that can be a good thing. I think people are starting to realise that Alex is kind of playing a role.

Feels like it could have been filmed from a old 70's episode of Old Grey Whistle Test doesn't it. Anyone at their gig at the Royal Albert Hall last night, heard it was immense. Played Ritz to the Rubble for the first time since 2011. Also Star Treatment got it's first playing, such a great song that. The new album just gets better and better the more you hear the new songs live. The album has grown on me massively. I basically wrote it off on first listen but have now come to love every song. Can't stop playing it. I'm sure you weren't the only one, and I'm sure many have grown to love it too. It's such a unusually album, definitely after such a commercial album like AM and to come back with an Art album, where guitars aren't the main focus. It's a ballsy move but will do them good going forward musically. Star Treatment has to be the most unusual thing they've done but it's brilliant, like if Bowie during his coke period in the mid 70's just happened to sing a few songs with a lounge band lol. One Point Perspective, I agree with Guy Garvey from Elbow when he says it's probably the best thing Turner's wrote, and it's got to be the follow up single to Four out Five. The title track is another Bowie like track. Four Out Five is the most commercial thing on the album. Ultracheese has John Lennon written all over it. American Sports is another stand out. Batphone is another that's grown on me.

Still makes me fall asleep halfway through the album. Seems like the songs are just crammed with as many words as Alex could come up with me. It just leaves cold. And silly me, I used to think Humbug was boring

I keep waiting for Alex Turner to come out and say the album was a pisstake and then release the real album.
What a terrible fucking album. The critics love it because, like Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys can do no wrong.

Guy Garvey of Elbow reckons Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino is "amazing," and that 'One Point Perspective' is Turner's "finest work" so far. I'm just saying, I'll take the opinion of a Mercury Prize winner over some baldy cunt with a YouTube account any day. More admiration for the album from an actual musician. This time from Nicky Wire, bassist, lyricist, and occasional vocalist for Manic Street Preachers, one of the most commercially and critically successful bands to come out of Britain in the Nineties: Beady’s Here Now

The critics love it because, like Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys can do no wrong. Three things: 1. Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino has got generally positive reviews but it's not like it's received widespread acclaim. 2. Coldplay have never been reviewed that favourably. Even their Viva la Vida album, which some people on here buzz off, didn't fare THAT well with critics. 3. You've still only heard it once, an't ya? Yeah, thought so.

Finally listened to it. Don't know what took me so long, but I didn't really have the urge before.
I still really like Four out of five. I like the sound of the album (boy have they been listening to Station to station a lot), but I can't really say anything else but Four out of five really stuck and the album feels kind of long and coke-y (hmm that sounds familiar, actually). It's as if Alex is trying to squeeze in as many words in a sentence as possible.
Because I like it's sound and I know sometimes songs have to grow I'm willing to give it a second chance, but if it doesn't grow then I won't be arsed to listen to it anymore and might stick with AM and what came before.

That second Last Shadow Puppets always sounded so weird to me, but now its sounds perfectly normal. And its great fucking album. Thank you Tranquility Base.

I still prefer that second TLSP album to Tranquility Base. Alex seems more controlled on that album. Tranquility Base sounds like Alex going off the rails with his witty lyrics. It feels like an overstuffed sandwich, too many words

It feels like an overstuffed sandwich, too many words Yeah, I also like it more than Tranquility Base. And that is weird because I hated it two years ago. To be true, I didn't even bother to listen whole album because I didn't like singles. For example, I thought that Bad Habbits was shit but now I think that is brilliant song. But it is Tranquility Base that opened that doors for me, I kind of get more into Alex's world and understood better what he is doing. Plus I watched few live shows and now I am officially obsessed. And like Tranquility Base made me appreciate Everything You've Come to Expect more, listening Everything You've Come to Expect made me to understand better and appreciate Tranquility Base more. But like I said already, I like their style, lyrics, live shows, direction...I just think that Tranquility Base is not good enough and that is missing few great songs, especially in the second half of an album. Which is shame because, in my opinion, it could have been masterpiece.

I forgot to post this some weeks ago: Johnny Marr on TBH&C: "I love the new Arctic Monkeys record - it's very self-aware and feels like another chapter in an ongoing long story." He also comments about playing with TLSP (a magic moment if I may) here.

The album came last year and Alex co produced the album. Plus Alexandra is a huge talented artist. What Lana Del Rey should do. Haunting vocals but interesting cinema background. Loads of Humbug and synths there.

I like this album, would give to it probably a 7 or 7.5 out of 10, it's better than AM imo which was an album that did nothing for me, it's very cohesive the highs aren't that high and the lows aren't that low, the second side suffers a bit where some song titles are better than the songs themselves.

Watched them at Rock Werchter on sunday. First of all, their young fanbase that came from England is unbearable. Second, they lost majority of the crowd with poor festival setlist and waaaay too long pauses between songs. Third, I fucking loved it, sang my soul out. 505 as a last song of a 4 day festival is always a good thing
