Almost as if it's an Oasis forum or something.
Let's all just take a moment to appreciate where we are right now: Liam is BACK where he belongs - singing great rock 'n' roll tunes with a snarl and a sneer, being a fucking legend, and looking cool as ever. Noel is finally putting his eclectic tastes into his music and he's done it with more vigour and passion than he's had since 1997. These two months have been a massive and very positive turning point in the Gallagher-music narrative, and we really should celebrate that. D'you know what I mean?

I suspect the excitement is voting for Noel, personally.
No disrespect.

Noel has some mad loyal fans on here.
So does Liam. It is just matter of taste, I think AYW is more Oasis fan friendly, classic guitar drum bass Oasis song, while WBTM is more diverse (not that much tho). I like both, probably WBTM more, but still too early to be honest.

Just "dead in the water" is better than all "as you were".

Who Built the Moon by a distance for me. AYW is good but I doubt I'll be listening to it in 6 months.

I suspect the excitement is voting for Noel, personally. No disrespect. That and the fact it is in the Noel section of the forum. The fact that it's a 50/50 vote right after WBTM shows just how strong AYW is. When someone polls this again in 1 year AYW will probably win confortably.

That and the fact it is in the Noel section of the forum. The fact that it's a 50/50 vote right after WBTM shows just how strong AYW is. When someone polls this again in 1 year AYW will probably win confortably. The thing is that AYW is a debut solo album. WBTM is the third one. I must say I kinda prefer AYW even though I'm more of a Noelist, just because AYW had things clear. No wheel reinvention, just a collection of tunes that feels more personal to Liam. WBTM had a concept and a direction and it didn't follow it. Its a solid album, but looses a bit of the initial direction. Where's the psychodelia? Where's the dreamy parts? IABW,STMHTF,BCWYWF and TMWBTM are the only tracks that I feel that are loyal with the record concept. The rest of the songs are joyful and happy pop tunes. And its alright, but he never should've sell it like a psychodelic record because it isn't. And also the promotion has been absolute trash. Don't get me wrong,WBTM is a strong album that I love and it could touch AYW,but I feel that the record was short and didn't satisfy at all.

A little little little little bit better wbtm. 6.9 liam 7.1 noel I think you should use two decimal places in your scores, 1 decimal place isn't quite accurate enough for my tastes. X

I've already listened WBTM near 20 times and since the first listen I knew AYW was a little bit better. Both albums are competent but you gotta think that AYW got 12 songs and to me the only weak track is When I'm In Need. Then...WBTM has 9 tracks (Not counting Wednesday and Fort Knox because to me are intro, interlude and ending, and I skip FK very often) and theres some more weak tracks there, being Holy Mountain and B&WSunshine. Maybe if the album was a bit longer and had another standout track I could give it the win because of the risk he took making this record. But it kinda feels incomplete and lost its own way in the making.

I am disappointed with who built the moon, it is not out there like Noe had us all believing. The album starts of well (all though i still don’t like holy mountain) but the second half of it is incredibly boring. Keep on reaching is probably my favourite track. I’d give it 6/10
As you were is now 7 weeks or so old and I am still really enjoying it. Never thought at the start of this year that liam would release the better album but he has. 8/10

Can't compare this two. Both are okay. Just okay. (But I definitely prefer AYW)

I think a fairer comparison would be to compare Noel's first solo album to As You Were. Maybe by the 3rd album Liam will be experimenting a bit more.
But for me Who Built The Moon is a clear winner against As You Were.

Haven't listenned to As You Were since about 3 days after it came out, and by then I was already forcing myself to try and 'get it'. WBTM I can't stop listenning to, it's so good, and both melodically and musically there's just so much to listen to and enjoy. I'm always disappointed when its coming to an end. I WANT MORE!
For me it's the difference between an album written by a natural born songwriter, and one that isn't. But there's something for everyone between the two, which is what really matters.

I looove As You Were, really, and I think it is because of the nostalgia. It really makes me miss Oasis and at times feels like I'm listening to them together again. Obviously Liam's voice takes you back, and he sounds so good.
But I found its repeat value to not be as good. After listening to it many times I start to feel like it is too samey and I find myself listening to it less and less. WBTM is a different beast and I think its variety will keep me going to it for a long, long time.

I've All I Need is the best track between the two albums. Comfortably. The Man Who Built the Moon for me, without a shadow of a doubt. Fort Knox, Wall of Glass, Dead in the Water, Paper Crown, and Beautiful World up there too...kinell, what a year we've had!

I've All I Need is the best track between the two albums. Comfortably. Up there for sure. I'd think my 5 favorite post-Gallagher tracks would be (in no order); I've All I Need It Doesn't Have to Be that Way The Man Who Built the Moon While the Song Remains the Same The Morning Son

Definitely As You Were for me. I still love to listen to it in its entirety whereas I know that I will definitely skip a few tunes on WBTM. This is no insult to WBTM as the only Oasis/Gallagher albums (only counting studio albums) I still like to listen to without skipping a single track are DM, WTSMG, BHN and now also AYW
