This song is begging for a bridge. A weak 7 for me. Will probably adjust down with time.

French members, did she say anything of importance?
Anyway, this didn't work for me at all. But I've liked 50% of what I've heard so far, so I guess things could be worse.

8.
It's a beautiful song, but only by Noel's design. A bit incomplete, though.

Love it, this is music. Exactly what I wanted, proper driving music, and great melodies. This is what Oasis should have been doing post SOTSOG. Some good aggression to the sound, and I like that he's actually written a song with some vaguely interesting lyrics that isn't about Sara

Not great on first listen. I'll have another go later.

I like it. I think I'm going to wait for the album to come out before I listen to any more songs.

A 6 for me. Nothing special. I don't get scissor girl, what's this all about?? If it's serious, it's hard to take, but is entertaining.

7/10 I like it more than She Taught Me How To Fly. Both are probably going to be great on the album though.
The scissors reminded me about the "electric washboard" from the first album.

Another song that doesn't really do anything for me, but probably the better out of what has so far been mediocre at best.

This song is begging for a bridge. A weak 7 for me. Will probably adjust down with time. That's what I was thinking and then I realized that a lot of Noel's songs don't have them. They often just have a guitar splo or an instrumental break of some kind.

This one is pretty good I think, some really good guitar melodies. Smple structure but manages to keep the interest. I have to agree. Definitely my favourite Song so far. The Preview Clip was promising and the rest of the song didn't disappoint. Can't wait for the album version with more stuff to explore

Noel really sounds like he's dying singing the high notes, i really had enough with his voice, he needs to stop using chest voice... Verses sound meh, chorus is ok, but the french voice is so cringy, adds nothing and is just used the same way it was with gorillaa "we got the power" which featured and was cowritten by you know who 4/10 but yet another song i wouldn't like to listen again.

I like the comment made above “Noel by numbers” - I’d agree

3/10 for me, I wish I could like it like the rest of you but I honestly think it's terrible, the only song we've heard so far that I really really dislike.
And the scissors thing was funny the first time, but now it's just irritating. I'm sure the whole thing makes sense in its original french avant-garde context but that lady is now in a Noel Gallagher context and IMO looking like a page-boy from the renaissance who opens and closes scissors in front of a mic clashes with everything else around her.

Probably the worst song of the bunch we've heard so far. Noel on autopilot, no valid melody during the whole song, unbelievable. The most interesting thing about it, is the girl talking in french. That says it all.

That says it all. Do you just define a melody as a tune that you like? I don't think this tune is as good as Fort Knox, but how can you say there isn't a "valid" melody (whatever that means) in it? I mean, those verses are catchy as hell, do they just not count for some reason?

Noel cant sing those songs live. Far from being his best work but we'll see the studio version
live version: 6/10.

This song is begging for a bridge. A weak 7 for me. Will probably adjust down with time. I thought exactly the same about the bridge (and middle eight) on first listen. And something similar with my first listen of STHTF. And I think that is what is behind the opinions of the people that consider both a bit repetitive. Nevertheless, in next listens I focused more on all the components of the song, not only the vocal melody, and it seems they are stronger and have a more important role than usual in Noel, and that is why you don't need additional melody changes so much. The instrumental part after the French speech is a good example: it seems very strong. I expect this to be more evident in the album

Given that my first message was moved to play pen, I'll try again: It makes me sad to read soooo many negative opinions on Noel's new music. I can understand not to like the new songs too much. Hey, even I don't love them like his classic work. But some people hates them cos they aren't the same as always, other people hates them cos they are more of the same... And it's been similar in Liam's forum in other times. I mean, it's sad. Both brothers have music coming out, lots of concerts, Liam is riding a wave of popularity, Noel is doing what he wants to do (and he has earned it for sure), and some people does nothing but moan about everything. Enjoy music, enjoy life boys. It's shorter and harder than you think.

I like the verses and I don't think there is much wrong with Noel's singing but the chorus is so whiny. Its not for me.
