I actually like the Beautiful World clip. This is the album Noel should have done solo between DOYS and Oasis' 8th album. There was zero point in breaking up the band.  Oh give it a rest. Did you see them on their last tour? They were completely miserable, the dynamic had fallen apart completely, the lead singer hadn't been able to sing for years and spent more time making gestures at the sound guy than actually singing to try and deflect the blame, they could only be bothered to come up with half an album, and due to the apparently required democracy, a lot of it had to be trash and there was no chance of someone imposing a bit of creative progression. Oasis need to tour, we need songs that sound like Oasis songs to market that. That was it. There was every point in breaking up the band. On top of that, breaking up Oasis is responsible for a resurgent Liam. He's got to do the graft now, take care of his voice, do the press, sing well. He certainly can't walk off stage on a whim anymore because Noel's not there to continue the gig. He's singing smart, not yelling and blowing out his voice. It's led to a Liam who is interested in longevity. It's a good thing. |

@godhelpusall , penny for your thoughts, mate... I actually like it. Beautiful World sounds better every time. The third track might take a while. As many on here have said, and it holds true for me, I don't mind a sonically expansive album AS LONG AS MELODY IS NOT SACRIFICED. We shall see in the coming months... |

Chasing Yesterday is clearly a compilation of tracks he's had laying around the house. He didn't seem excited and really worried during that Facebook thingy, and now we know why. You have to understand that, by the time Chasing Yesterday was announced (let alone released), it had been sitting on the shelf for months and Noel was already working on a different project, one that was producing exciting results through a new working method. On top of that, three of the tracks came from the AA sessions (from 2010) and one chorus was even 22 years old. It was old product and Noel had already moved on. If you've ever been in a position where you've had to present the public something you did a while ago, while currently working on something else, you will understand. |

I get the feeling this is the album Noel wanted to make back when he started his solo career.
During NGHFB promo he said he wanted the album to flow like a movie, but it didn't. Then both with CY and the discarted AA album he wanted something psychedelic and experimental, but it didn't work.
Now it seems he has gotten those 2 things right. Of course I've only listened a few seconds from 3 songs and I could be completely wrong, but I think this is the solo album he always wanted to make.
