Total failure of an album, Lyla is the only great track. GGTIA and TIOBI are ok.

The vocals aren't great but it is a good album. I've said loads of times on here, that people don't realise how few Noel-written/Liam-sung tunes there actually are on that album. Absolute travesty. Only one and a half. Insane. I mean that was the growing trend since SOTSOG.

Because Noel sings it better.

Nothing is as bad as HC. Nothing.

I think I hate you, a trump supporter and a HC hater. HC is god like. HC=godlike. Biblical. You do have something in common with Trump. What you say makes zero sense, just like his recent comments about USA and Italy's relations dating back to fucking Ancient Rome.

What have I said that doesn't make sense? Remember, not a disagreement, something that I've said that you genuinely can't make heads or tails of. Go on then, I'll be waiting.

I remember a foul forum member from some years back (2010ish, can't remember his name) was adamant in his belief that Pass Me Down The Wine would rise from an obscure b-side to become a classic ubiquitous song for Oasis within five years. That's how much he thought of that song, and also how deluded he was. Was it redlandsman87? actually to all who talked to him redlandsman87 was my best friend and committed suicide earlier this summer.huge fan I turned him on during the heathen chemistry era he was mad for DBTT tho.

Is that true? Not calling you a liar but you just joined 2 days ago and your only comment is on a post from over two years ago. Seems pretty fucking random. Why not post a thread topic on him and show proper tribute.

Going into album #6 we knew a few songs that were under consideration. - The Magic Can’t Be Right - Don’t Be Down - Record Machine - Stop The Clocks - Ain’t Got Muffins - Boy With The Blues Then we had older relics that were very much TBD. - Slow - Revival - The Roller - It’s A Crime - Solve My Mystery Out of all of those songs we knew about above, we only got 1 in 2005. A reworked Its A Crime (Let There Be Love).

I remember a story of Paul McCartney popping in the night they attempted it.

#1- HC (godlike) #2- Sotsog (a smidgen less godlike) #3- DOYS(Brilliant #4-WTSMG(Great) #5-DM(would've been higher if it didn't have a shit track) #6-DBTT(kinda shit, wretched vocals, boring) #7-BHN(just terrible, long soupy trash) “Go away, there ain’t no Heathen Chemistry and there never was!” Funny you should post that, because Oasis are somewhat like The Simpsons to me. Both devolved into pale imitations of themselves eventually. Both ended up making more mediocre content than great. And in both cases, it doesn't matter. Because when they were good, they were unforgettably, culture-definingly brilliant. Don't Believe the Truth and Heathen Chemistry are both poor albums, but they're not even footnotes for what those lads did in the 90s. They're forgotten ten seconds into the intro to Rock 'n' Roll Star.

Both were poorer for much longer than they were great, yet the vast amount of tripe can never undermine the greatness of the classics.

It was huge huge huge huge when I was like 9-10 years old. I haven’t seen a “newer” episode in probably 15-17 years. Use to stick around and catch an episode after Sunday football. Then I turned to family guy and now rick and Morty.

I don't think it's a bad album, but I think you have to be in a very specific mood to appreciate it.

As usual, the boring disclaimer which should go without saying (and in most places would) however - this is my opinion only.
But I don't agree with this at all, to me Don't Believe The Truth is definitely one of the better albums, and the time that surrounded it was probably one of the last exciting era's of British music. I'm awful nostalgic of 2005/2006 in regards to music and tv etc so it may be bias, but putting that aside:
- It's better that HC, better songs, better vocals, better production (yep) - It's more consistent than both DOYS & SOTSOG (both of which have high highs, but low lows) - It's cleaner sound was probably a big contributor to Oasis's sudden rise in popularity when the album came out - Not that this matters but the public at the time loved this album, all the singles were either number 1's or 2's in the chart, and to this day, a lot of people I know who swore by the first 2 or 3 albums only, also had this one.

I love the album. Personally think it has aged rather well. Besides its probably the most consistent one since Morning Glory (or at worst since BHN). It has great, joyful songs. Very slick. Also in general it seemed the band really enjoyed that period, some nice gigs, like the one in Manchester. All in all 2005-2006 was in a way a special period in general, the last days, before youtube, social media and Iphones took over the world.
DOYS probably has a more interesting sound to it, and has some absolutely epic tracks like Bag it Up and Falling Down, etc, but the second part is really, really poor. I cannot listen to those songs, except for Solider On. Strangely, To be Where There's Life sounded quite good live, but its horrible on the album.
