DBTT has as many bad songs on it as HC did. One is claimed to be their great comeback while the other is viewed as toilet paper despite huge sales, mega hit singles, incident free touring. Boogies the mind. Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was................. Hey, don't be so harsh, Mr. Lennon. DBTT was the first album Oasis released after I got into them and I was witnessed the entire history together with many people on here from the night when Lyla was first played on a Polish radio and my first ever Oasis gig in abroad, so this album still means a lot to me.

I don't think I was being harsh. I said it was the same as all the other post 2000 albums. Half good, half bad. I'm quoting others when saying "big comeback" and "toilet paper". I just find it interesting because they are actually similar in nature and success. One has a bad connotation the other a positive.

As it is the album that got me to like oasis in 2005 when I was 8, I'd say it's my personal favourite. Love every minute of every song.

That’s all well and great that you have nostalgic memories associated with it, but it doesn’t make the album any better.

A good album IMO, I think it has 3 great tracks (TIOBI, Lyla, POTQ), plus 4 very good tracks (TUTS, MF, GGTIA, LTBL), however I have problems with 4 tracks (TMOF, KTDA, ABWR, LLAB) which put the album down a bit for me.

I'm fine if others hate this album or not. No big deal.

Got bored this morning.... Below is a table showing 3 things mostly: 1) How I rank the tracks from each album cycle. 2) How I rank each track against the other two albums. 3) Total points achieved. | Heathen Chemistry
| | Don't Believe The Truth
| | Dig Out Your Soul
| 1 2 2 2 2 1 2 2 2 3 1 1 | Little By Little Stop Crying Your Heart Out The Hindu Times Songbird Better Man Born On A Different Cloud Hung In A Bad Place She Is Love Force Of Nature The Cage A Quick Peep (Probably) All In The Mind
| 2 1 1 1 1 2 1 3 3 2 3 3 | The Importance Of Being Idle Lyla Turn Up The Sun Part of the Queue Lord Don't Slow Me Down Guess God Thinks I'm Abel Mucky Fingers Let There Be Love The Meaning of Soul Love Like A Bomb A Bell Will Ring Keep The Dream Alive
| 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 1 1 1 2 2 | The Turning Falling Down The Shock Of The Lightning Bag It up Waiting For The Rapture I'm Outta time The Boy With The Blues (Get Of Your) High Horse Lady Soldier On Ain't Got Nothing To Be Where There's Life The Nature of Reality
| 21
| Total
| 23 | Total
| 28 | Total

Take away... Looking at this, it is pretty clear to me that Don't Believe The Truth is certainly NOT the worst Oasis album. For me anyway. Tidied DOYS > DBTT > HC

Boggles the mind. Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was................. What's odd is how HC's Noel sung B-Sides are quality tracks, but the Noel sung tracks on the album are among the worst he's ever done. In what world is She is Love a better song than Shout It Out Loud?

A mate of mine who is a casual Oasis listener and sang in my Oasis tribute act for a while a few years ago told me that some of the tracks from BHN (I hope I think I know being the first) are among his favourites from the band and DBTT is his favourite album from Oasis. Interesting as it's coming from a casual listener. I love that album by the way.

She Is Love is so shit lol. What was he thinking? Yet another song forum members overly dump on. All because they had the balls/insanity to include it as a double A-side with Little By Little. If it was just another album track no one would care. The two tracks prior to it on the record are worse frankly.

That's pretty similar to someone I know, he's a very casual Oasis 'fan' and his favourite songs are I Hope, I Think, I Know, Magic Pie and Morning Glory.

I suppose you could say that but at the same time he's probably never heard songs like Bring It On Down, Slide Away or Hey Now.

Casual listeners usually like more DBTT and HC than the hardcore fanbase, albums which feature hit singles and a more acessible sound.

Lyla is still one of my favorite Oasis videos. The story line fits, the ending is fucking monumental, and inbetween the band - especially Liam - look absolutely fucking mega.
I watch it, and am immediately transported right back to 2005. Top.

Also:
To go from the likes of Force of Nature, Hung In A Bad Place, A Quick Peep, Better Man, She Is Love, and Probably All in the Mind
to
The Importance of Being Idle, Lyla, Turn Up the Sun, Part of the Queue, Guess God Thinks I'm Able, and Mucky Fingers
in just a mere 3 years is pretty fucking inspiring stuff.

That's apples to oranges. You compared the weaker HC tracks to the better DBTT tracks. That's not fair. HC had the better singles.

How many songs from HC would get on DBTT? Swap Love like a bomb for Stop Crying your heart out and Keep the dream alive for Songbird maybe Little by Little instead of A Bell will Ring, that's it really.
