It was a nice show, about 1 hour long. Too many Oasis tunes, but he's opening for U2, many are not his fans, so it's understandable. Crowd went mad with Wonderwall and DLBIA this new track between Champagne Supernova and Half the World Away doesn't match at all! a ball of loud noise between 2 acoustic tracks LMAO most people were just indifferent though
I haven't been listening to some of the newer recordings, but it's nice to have Gem and Chris back in the band. it's a different energy.

HM should be an opener (on this upcoming tour). Maybe it's a bad idea to play this new (and a little bit controversial) song to U2 audience. (Noel, it's great that you kinda changed your setlist at last, but you changed it in the wrong time!) And no ballads after/before HM! It's just sounds odd.

I haven't been listening to some of the newer recordings, but it's nice to have Gem and Chris back in the band. it's a different energy. Nice, that's because they are playing as band members rather than touring musicians. Plus, Gem really has got a unique way of playing guitar. Also, Sharrock style is way more softer and technical than the butcher with a hat.

Sharrock's playing is certainly subtler with Noel than Jeremy's was, but Jeremy is the more technically competent drummer. Why he played the way he did with Noel live, I'll never understand. But yes - with Sharrock and Gem, this feels a lot more like a "band." Seeing Noel and Gem playing close together over by the drum riser makes me smile, and was the kind of onstage rapport Noel and Tim never developed. It's funny seeing older NGHFB live footage now, Tim and Jeremy look totally out of place in my mind

I liked his style though, he added strengh to Noel's song during the first tour especially. i suppose that's how Noel wanted him to play.

Even though it's only an hour should be good seeing Noel in a stadium (first time)! Plus it will be great to see them with Gem and Sharrock. Also, someone said it's a bad idea playing a "controversial" song, I'M, while opening for u2. 1. It's his new single why wouldn't he promote it. 2. It's controversial because some people dont like it? Bring on Saturday and HM live!

It sticks out like a sore thumb between slow acoustic songs.

So Noel supporting U2 was a rather painful experience, mainly cause no one really gave a shit about noel. All the hardcore fans where right up against the stage and if you want to put a % on it based on total public, generously I'd say 5%... I was in the stands and no one really cares when he came on. My gf saw him coming on stage through the side and screamed so load everyone around us though she was mad. Still we shouted every word. Probably to the discomft of those around us. Fuck 'em.
Set started of sounding great. First few songs no one really cared. Riverman was great and Gem made it sound even more amazing. Lots more people clapping after that.. CS got alot more people going. HM made alot people dance and move their heads.
Shit got going with LBL. A really great version. I'd say by then Noel had won over a good deal of the public. Then into the classic. Wonderwall dedicated to all the people in the stands "cause it's the only fucking song you'll know".
Based on other times I have seen Noel live, alot more interaction with the public. Naming Santiago alot, you can tell he has learnt from Bono. "Claudio Bravo king of Manchester pff. Alexis Sanchez will be fucking king of Manchester I'll tell you that"
Also alot more movement on stage from Noel, which seems to show he is really enjoying himself.
Sound was outstanding. Band sounds great aswell. Sharrock is a fucking good drummer. And Gem fucking hell he really bring alot to the table as a guitarist and has improved HFB alot!
U2 were a great show as usual. Top night.

A collegue of mine is a big U2 fan and went to Dublin to see them. She's not too keen on Liam after everything he said about U2 lately. Fun lunch time talks that were! But I implored her to go and watch Noel as well and she was not disappointed! She now asked to borrow my 2 Noel CDs and, to not overwhelm her, in addition I just gave her the first 3 Oasis albums. So, that is maybe one new fan he won through that!

People around me in stadium didn't know any Noel's songs, but they all went nuts for Wonderwall and DLBIA. That's how it is, but I believe Noel didn't/doesn't mind it. Glad to hear you had a great time.

Santiago, Chile
The performance was great, watching Noel in a big stadium was amazing, despite it wasn’t his audicence it was great. I was 20 meters away from him and all the people were very excited and focus on the show, respecting all the time.
The sound was spectacular, Chris destroyed the drums, awesome. Gem was in a different standard. The ´Champagne Supernova´ solo was insuperable, imposing.
´Riverman´ sounded different played by Gem, he gives it a special sound. I hope they are forever in High Flying Birds.
‘Holy Mountain’ sounds excellent, much better than in the studio. Noel was enjoying while he was playing it, imposible not to be part of the show.
The sad part was that the performance was too short despite I knew it was like that. Noel was amazing, I’ve seen him 6 times and he never has never dissapointed me.
I decided to record the show using my Tascam Dr40, to all the people who has share for years their shows. I think the recording is very Good, I’m happy with it! I will share it very soon!
U2 was fine, it's just not mine cup of tea...I think Noel stole the night!!! well that's what I think! jaja
Love you Noel, thank you for another unforgettable night!!"

Next tour should be great, hopefully he will make down here again. Thanks in advance for the recording. Good to know there are other big oasis fans down here in this part of the world.

I'm so excited to see him play with Gem and Sharrock once again. I'm sure they leveled up the sound quality of the band. I got tickets for me and the missus for u2's second night in Brazil (october 21st). And today I menaged to get ticket for their third night, on october 22nd. So excited about seeing Noel once again. And the missus is really excited about seeing U2 two days in a row. So that's a win-win situation for us. I'm not a U2 fan but I quite like them.
