I say album drops mid November. He does a very mini U.K. Tour in 2016. Proper tour in 2017.
Yeah, it's got to be something like that. Christmas tour in the UK, big ass break, start again in March. It would be cool if he did an Albert Hall special like in 2015.
Mmm, my kind of break.

Indeed, the silence on the new material is a bit disturbing actually. Usually we should have a single at least by September right? I mean ITHOTM and BOTMI were realeased a few months prior to CY. Well, Noel only has one more support slot before his October support with U2. I would think that we'll probably start getting some motion going once he comes off tour with U2. It wouldn't surprise me if we get a single by late August or early September. Russ Pritchard said on the podcast they've already soundchecked one new tune and Noel's process is rehearse-soundcheck-gig so I'm assuming that's the single and it'll be inserted into the next U2 gigs after it gets airplay.

I really like he way the HFBs play "Wonderwall" on that tour.

I really like he way the HFBs play "Wonderwall" on that tour. That sounds really solid! Noel has hit the nail on the head with this live arrangement of Wonderwall to balance the original MG version and the Ryan Adams-ified/Capo 3 version. The slower version just didn't quite sound right to do all the time and the original MG version has been overdone as time has gone on, so this arrangement feels like the best of both worlds.

I saw Noel posted an Instagram post thanking the fans and U2 for this mini tour opening. No mention of the "next" step. Just another slot in October. I was hoping Noel would say something about his upcoming new album.

I really don't like the way Noel is playing Wonderwall at the moment.
1. 2008/2009 (Liam) 2. 1996 (Liam) 3. 1995/1996 (Noel) 4. 1997-2006 (Liam) 5. Ryan Adams version
I hope Noel will play it like the DOYS tour.

That song is meant to be on an acoustic.

I'm still not convinced his album will drop in November.
Surely we have to get a single soon.

New era. If his album is out November 10 then September sounds like perfect timing. That's only a month away folks. Get pumped.

I'm still not convinced his album will drop in November. Surely we have to get a single soon. I mean, Noel has already announced it and it seems like everyone in the band expects it to happen. There's really no reason to push it back, especially this late. It's not an AA situation or a CY moment. This already has a legit release date, and they've probably already started to do promo work and start paying for shit. At this point, financially, it'd had to be a pretty good reason to delay.

Noel is such a an ass licker now. I never thought I'd grow to start disliking the guy but I can see why Liam think he's a turd. He lies consistently and just isn't who he used to be.

But when has anything Noel related shown any foresight with regards to release strategy? They've been genuinely awful in the way they've conducted releases.

Noel's past with release strategy has been awful but his album is out in 3 months. He didn't release a single 5 months early like last time. He didn't make the mistake of making a huge announcement and then saying its out in FIVE MONTHS! I like this more silent approach. We literally know nothing about this project. Just that David Holmes is producing, the songs were all written in the studio and he sent friends promo copies. This is exciting.

Just that David Holmes is producing, the songs were all written in the studio and he sent friends promo copies. This is exciting. It does sound encouraging, hopefully they've seen the error of their ways. One thing that doesn't seem to be mentioned often here, which excites me, is the long gestation period for this album - 4 years to be precise. I've always thought many Oasis albums could have been much better with a longer recording time. Who knows the leap in quality if an extra year had been added to the Standing on the Shoulder of Giants sessions for example? Sure, they usually took three years in between album releases, but they only recorded in the year running up to a release. I don't like bands releasing albums for the sake of it, which I felt was just a ruse for Oasis to tour, and if it takes time to make an album as good as it can be, then it takes time. This kind of painstaking effort and patience has never been seen with Noel before - it will be fascinating to hear the results.

Personally, I feel that Noel is staying in the background, so as to allow Liam his moment here. As much as they bicker, Noel still wants to see Liam succeed. Especially after the terrible go of it Liam's had over the past few years. They're still brothers after all.

At the end of the day, any publicity for a Gallagher release will inevitably focus attentions on the other brother.

I agree, even if the brother themsevles haven't spoken, I am certain their marketing teams will have done, and agreed how this will all go down and to give Liam some space right now. Which means I should think Noel's single will have to come in early-ish September, which is the only gap before Liam's album release gets all the publicity. I expect once Noel's album is out both sides are hoping to milk the 'battle of the brothers'.

All the media nonsense will only keep their names in the news and maybe generate more sales. Believe you me, people are gonna start to beat the noel vs Liam war drum as soon as noel announce his LP.
