Right now, a lot of people are on Twitter are talking about Noel touring Brazil (And I would assume, most of South America) in October with U2.

It's gonna happen. This journalist is famous for giving antecipated informations about gigs and he already talked about U2 a few times before, he's usually accurate.

I guess it's safe to say he'll play a few new tunes while opening for U2, then?

If his supporting U2 extends into October then i would imagine no album until the spring. He isn't gonna release a new record while opening for another artist. So October is now out.

I think the album could still be released this year. When Noel mentioned the November release date, I expected something had to be going on in October. The tour might just be a few dates till early October, allowing for a one month break before the album release.

I think that people are overthinking the timeline here. Just because this was announced yesterday, doesn't mean that Noel agreed to it yesterday.
Usually, support slots and tour dates are agreed upon at least a month in advance before an announcement. That means that when Noel made the November comment, he probably already knew that he'd be supporting U2 in October.

Oh yeah, completely forgot about the November release.

Wonder how much he's getting paid for these support slots?

Wonder how much he's getting paid for these support slots? Well, enough to go through with it until at least October.

The recording costs with David Holmes has maybe run over. Because when was the last time Noel toured extensively with no "new" music to promote? STC?

Oh yeah, completely forgot about the November release. November release is now cloudy as hell. I just can't see him tour with U2 in September and October, release an album in November and go on tour again for himself. That is a lot of activity for Noel. Hope it happens but a March release looks more likely based on these new details. We shall see.

Other than that id expect ZERO new material.

Plus, there was a clear decline in album sales for him. I could see him push through on it, tbh.

Perhaps they pushed to November so Noel could finished the thing with with U2. He might use those as warm up gigs, play a new single. I think it's a great opportunity, he'll be playing at massive stadiums. Squeeze a new tune between Wonderwall and DLBIA and there you go, instant success!

It is certainly the natural and new age thing to do. Remember, this is a guy who announced an debuted a new single and then was like........"album is out in 5 months". Are you kidding me!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Granted I'm sure that wasn't all his call but in today's world people announce albums and boom! Out in 4-6 weeks. I like that method. Why drag it out if you don't have to. Hopefully Noel is totally finished. Hopefully those mixing rumors from 2 months ago are true.

Thought U2 had really thrown a curveball and were going to tour their 1982 album for a second. No surprise - I really expect it to be released next year. He'll probably go back to the mixes in that time and strip its Holmes-esque sonic textures down to a dull, middle aged paunchy guitar sludge.

I don't think it's ever gone the other way when that has a clear bearing. I always lean on the longer side of things with Noel. Always. I want to be surprised this time. I really do but I've been conditioned over the years not to get excited anymore. It'll usually take more time than we as fans believe.

And I always lean on the sceptical side of things now. As ever with Noel, on paper it sounds amazing. The results never turn out the way they should, because he's such a conservative wimp, despite his 'I don't give a fuck' posturings in the media. Because of that, I'm just not as excited by a David Holmes collaboration as I should be.
