I always lean on the longer side of things with Noel. Always. I want to be surprised this time. I really do but I've been conditioned over the years not to get excited anymore. It'll usually take more time than we as fans believe. And I always lean on the sceptical side of things now. As ever with Noel, on paper it sounds amazing. The results never turn out the way they should, because he's such a conservative wimp, despite his 'I don't give a fuck' posturings in the media. Because of that, I'm just not as excited by a David Holmes collaboration as I should be. If its coming out in November, we should have an announcement anytime between now and June. 4-5 months. That is usually his style of release.

I might look like a complete idiot in a few weeks by posting this, but at the moment I'm confident that the album is finished and that the release date has already been set for this year. My optimism is based on the fact that the few bits we know make up a consistent timeline: "album + videos have to be finished before Glastonbury" + U2 tour + "album is slated for a November release". Notice how the last time Noel was asked about the album he didn't say "it's going well" or "I have to finish it soon" but said "I believe it will be released in November". That's Noelese for "we've been discussing the release date for weeks and it's already settled but I'm faking disinterest about this kind of stuff".
I'm expecting an announcement before the start of the U2 tour.

Not only does this news throw the new album for Noel in jeopardy, but the new U2 album as well which was also supposed to be due at the same time.
Very interesting indeed...

U2............new album..............................keeping dream folks. Judging by the band's recent behavior, they'll put out a single (attached with some ridiculous promotional gimmick) that's desperately trying to keep with the current mainstream pop trends, and then when it bombs, they'll hurry back into the studio to write new stuff for another 3 years. Rinse repeat.

There are some rumours of a solo gig being negociated in Brazil, but it's difficult. We have Rock in Rio in September (and a lot of solo gigs from the festival artists) plus Paul McCartney (4 gigs), John Mayer (5 gigs) and now U2 in October.

Wow, (if I get tickets)I'll be seeing Noel, McCartney and U2 within 4 days. This is bound to be surreal. And to bankrupt me of course.

As far as u2 fans are, they usually go mental and sell out stadiums in the presale, or even maybe the only best seats or cheapest.... So we probably will be lucky if we have additional nights. I'm trying to track presale codes, which start tomorrow btw, but it's pointless because they are individual. There are no general presale codes.... I'm telling you. We are doomed!! I wish Noel were opening for Paul or the Who instead.... Godamnit!!

cheapest tickets GA in Argentina around $145 there are 2 presales -fanclub and one bank exclusive- before general sale. there are a few seats on the back sides at ~$47. slim chances...

Same scenario here Eva, except for strongs rumours of 2 extra nights. But I would never believe that Noel would extend his support to u2 on those, so they would get a random local band instead, which has happened before. I have done a trial for the fan presale today and logged in one hour before the sale just to see how it was. I was number 8000 in the queue. Then logged in a couple of hours after. I was number 35000. One night will sell out too fast and we will never have a chance.
