It's Lucy Rose who he wants to have singing on his next record. She does have a lovely voice. I bought a couple of tunes off her album released a couple of months ago.

I still need to check Lucy Rose. Our member Ross started a thread about her on here years ago. Weller said that he already has songs for his new album. This man never stops!

As I said, I only own a few tunes, but this is one of them, and I think it's absolutely gorgeous: It starts off sounding like something off Joni Mitchell's Blue, and then the bass comes in, and then a string section like a classic soul ballad... I'm not surprised Weller's a fan. Lovely stuff.

I believe eva likes her as well. Thanks for this, theyknowwhatimean!

Ace hidden gem: Not one for the 'Jam army', then... That deluxe edition of the debut has so many great outtakes. The 1992 demos of many tracks are IMO better than the ones that made the cut later. For instance: This cover is pretty nice too:

Serious Dig Out Your Soul vibes off this 'Paul Weller'-era tour poster: Weller's even rocking a similar barnet to what Liam had in early '08.

True, but trust me my friend. His contribution to One Tear is outstanding. He may lost his fame, but his voice didn't die.

Considering Weller is basically unknown in the US, outside of a few pockets of loyal supporters, it's pretty good he's been able to get this gig. Colbert most be an Anglophile. He's always having Brits on his show.

That'd explain why he had Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds on there, the other month - those Skeleton Tree tunes aren't exactly tailor made for being played on late night talk shows, are they? But he has also had lots of Brits on as his talking guests, as well. People like Peter Serafinowicz and Chris O'Dowd (not British, I know, but you get what I mean), they're not terrible well known over here, let alone in America.

Such a good tune...
And Craddock kills it here.

Debating on seeing him next week in Detroit. Haven't gotten into this album and I'm sure he'll be playing a fair amount of it.

Debating on seeing him next week in Detroit. Haven't gotten into this album and I'm sure he'll be playing a fair amount of it. He is playing almost 30 songs a setlist so there will still be plenty of stuff other than the album in there! Seeing him here in Toronto on Tuesday, seen him in Dublin outdoors a few years ago and the sound was horrible at it, worst sound at a gig i have ever been too so looking forward to a nice small indoor venue. Loved the last couple of albums too

Seen him live for 11 times and met him in person 3 times. I was and still a huge fan of The Jam (not very much of The Style Council). He's been playing some "classic" at his gig as well, but mostly he focuses on his new record. If you have a chance, go to see him.
