This is a great album. It flows incredibly well and most of the songs are excellent. Well produced, well mixed, everything is crystal clear.
I can't believe that four people in their 50s are still pushing boundaries of what their band is.

Picked my copy last Friday. It's a good record though I need to give a listen more.
My favourites are Light In A Quiet Room and Portland Rocks.
Hopefully to see them again after 4 years.

Listened to it a couple times so far and, although I prefer TINASP, this album is quite good. The 80s sound suits it, it feels like a powerful and heavy album (maybe given it’s 60 minutes) without being too much to digest in one listen. Last Frontier and Portland Rocks are my current favourites, followed by I Came to See the Wreck.
Seeing them in September at the Roundhouse. Very excited about that!

Excellent acoustic live set from the signing session at Rough Trade East: I love those acoustic Ride sets, happy to listen to the new songs like this. Also great to have a different Vapour Trail treatment and OX4. I rate Interplay as their best post-reunion album so far. Probably the highlights in Weather Diaries were better for me, but the rest is too uneven. I don't skip any songs in this one, very strong overall. |

I went to see Ride for the first time yesterday. They were here in Helsinki and played Nowhere and Going Blank Again in full - according to Mark this was the first time they did so! I had never realised that Andy plays most of the lead guitar in those two albums - NOW I get it when people on this board claimed that he was a wasted talent as a bass player in Oasis! I stood right at the front row in front of him, basically so close that I could have stolen his pedalboard.  Talking about pedals, they couldn't get his another pedal board to work before the gig (which would have changed the pedal routings for him with just one tap) so he played the full set by stomping his pedals on and off one by one according to each song's needs! Quite impressive footwork and also amazing that he was able to remember the settings for all of the songs. On a sidenote, seems like he's married again as he wore a wedding ring. |

I’m going to see them Friday at the Roundhouse. I really like the new one but This Is Not a Safe Place is still my favourite of the post reunion Ride albums.
