A great pro-shot acoustic session from KUTX Austin. Jump Jet, what a tune.

The KEXP session recorded a few months ago is finally online! 9 songs off the last album performed live in proper pro shot quality. Top stuff.

Saw them for the first time last night and I'm happy to got to see them finally. I missed them 2, 5 years ago because I had to choose between Slowdive and Ride as both gigs were one after another. I don't regret that I went for Slowdive as it was a fantastic gig. Last night's gig was great and it made me realise how brilliant guitarist Andy Bell is. I loved his guitar work for Hurricane#1, but this is on another level. My better half who had no idea what kind of a band we were going to see asked me before heading to the venue "Isn't it a Gallagher related gig?" I told him "No". carlober, I'm sure you had a great time to seeing them too!

I saw them last Friday in Barcelona, they were really great, they have the songs and they sound amazing live. Small venue, I don't think they sold out but it was full. Heavy on songs from the last album, only complain would be how can they NOT play Twisterella, Paralysed or Cali, but I guess they've have to many songs now. Anyway, they could've drop Dial Up for or All I Want for instance... Honestly, how Andy spent 10 years as a basist on Oasis, except for the money, is beyond my understanding. The man's a genius.

The gig last week was phenomenal. Small capacity venue, quite full although not sold out I believe... man, it was loud! I had my ears ringing for the whole next day. I met Mark and Loz outside the venue before the gig, I didn't want to annoy them so I just said hi. I was right in front of Andy, front line, literally less than two metres from the stage. I could touch his pedals with my hands I spent a lot of time nerding at his guitars and stuff. The setlist was very good (I loved hearing Unfamiliar), although I didn't get to hear Chrome Waves which is one of my personal favourites. Opening the set with Jump Jet is a brilliant choice... what a tune!

Only now did I find the time to post my impressions on the gig since I had a busy week and along with that also had the Linda Martini (very cool rock band from Portugal, recommend a listen even if the lyrics are in portuguese) concert yesterday.
Incredible, the venue is very intimate and likely my favorite place in Porto for concerts. They were on top form even if I was a bit sad to not hear Unfamiliar and I do agree that opening the concert with Jump Set is tremendous. Lannoy Point is tremendous live and is my favorite tune from Weather Diaries. The encore consisted of In This Room and Seagull which were very good. Loved it from start to finish even if I did leave it a fucking sweaty mess.
Also had the chance to meet Andy Bell post concert which was a nice touch. Seems like a very down to earth bloke.

One of the most underrated Ride tracks in my opinion. A gorgeous, dreamy, layered drone.
