I know that there are some Bell/Gardener&Co fans on here, so here's a dedicated thread to discuss all things Ride. Big news is that they played THREE new songs at two intimate gigs in Brighton this week... and this definitely suggests that a new album is on the way, yay! Here's the first one, I really like what I'm hearing. It's a slow, almost post-rockish piece with droning guitars.

Here's Untitled #3... love Andy's guitar work in here!

Thanks for sharing! #3 in particular sounds great, hope for a proper EP/album release for them sometime soon.

Otherwise this is some suprising and awesome news! Today's gig at bestival was shorter than the one I was talking about, couldnt find a way to rip it, if someone is awake in 3 hours there will be a repeat in the same link I posted earlier, here's the setlist. Leave Them All Behind Like a Daydream Seagull (Unknown)(New1) Taste (Unknown)(New3) Vapour Trail Drive Blind

I managed to rip (not in HD quality though) the live performances of both the new tracks. I'll see if I can upload them in the next few hours! They sounded great, #3 is a tune.

The video got blocked as soon as it hit YouTube: " Blocked in the whole world because of audiovisual content owned by Red Bull". YT is too smart and Red Bull is merciless in this kind of situations. I'll try another way.

Here's Untitled #3, hoping it will last on Vimeo. Video quality could be better but I had to screen-capture it. I'll say it again... this song is so fucking good. Andy is making his 12-string Rickenbacker sing!

I only know a few songs from Ride but this new one sounds really good. I might check their other stuff some day.

And now... Untitled #1. As I said yesterday it reminds me of a couple of post-rock bands, and the solo is slightly Pink Floyd-ish. Another very good and super-promising tune.

Otherwise this is some suprising and awesome news! And here's the other new Song(#2) Is this one about John Snow or the city player? Liked this one the most of the new ones.

If anybody would like to have the two new songs played at Bestival in mp3, I've posted a download link in this thread in the boot section of the forum. By the way, Manualex, I have to disagree. For me #2 is definitely the weakest of the bunch I really, really like #3 and #1 is quite good, though.

Andy is making his 12-string Rickenbacker sing! see now I listen to this and think "why the fuck didnt andy write things like this in beady eye? I mean I am assuming he wrote this (maybe not) theres interesting guitar parts here and an actual chorus. just doesnt make much sense to me, this song actually has feeling, wouldve been interesting to hear Liam sing stuff like this, maybe LAG simply didnt have that chemistry going on. also andy get a shave and a haircut, looking abit homeless atm.

And while you're at it, spend 9 minutes of your life and listen to this. When the bass kicks in it gets me every time. Fucking monster of a tune and superb guitar work by Andy!

I really don't like their singer. Every song sounds cool until he starts to sing and then they sound to me more like Savage Garden, Maroon 5...kind of band.
But I am downloa...I mean buying Nowhere right now so we'll see.

This sounds extremely promising! Like the album that should've followed Going Blank Again instead of Carnival of Light.
And while we're on the subject of COL, I'd like to express my frustration at that album's existence. Not only was it a huge creative step back from Ride's trademark sound, it was the beginning of Andy Bell's dad rock era that lasted all of 20 (!!) painful years! Glad he's finally writing great material again.
