www.imwan.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=98045Here it says 'A Storm In Heaven is tentatively scheduled to be a 3CD/1DVD set, while A Northern Soul will be a 2CD/1DVD package.' So I'm guessing ANS will just be the albums, b-sides. The DVD can't surely just be the music videos, as they only made like 3 of them?

I can't say I'm that bothered about an Urban Hymns reissue, but I'm so hyped for these two! I have three possible reasons why UH might not get a reissue: 1. Nick McCabe was primarily behind these first two reissues, if i'm not mistaken, and are albums he believes he had equally contributed too. 2. Legal issues. (Either the Mick Jagger & Keith Richards thing, or Richard Ashcroft trying to claim UH was primarily his own album :/) 3. Another case of 'Be Here Now'. It just didn't happen.

Great points but I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed for it. It would be great to have remastered b-sides from that album cycle along with the hometown gig which was superb.

There will almost certainly be a UH reissue. There's too much money to be made from re-releasing one of the best selling albums in British chart history. The only question is: when?

ASIH The Verve’s stunning debut album from 1993 gets a thorough overhaul with this wonderful 4-disc boxed Super Deluxe Edition. Remastered by Chris Potter (co-producer of the band’s ‘Urban Hymns’) the original album comes amply augmented by all of the legendary pre-album EP tracks, associated acoustic versions, as well as two previously unreleased BBC radio sessions and two excellent previously unreleased studio albums – ‘South Pacific’ and ‘Shoeshine Girl’. The DVD presents a 1992 Camden Town Hall concert, the US promo video for ‘Blue’ plus unseen footage of the band in New York in October 1992. There’s also a new video for the unreleased ‘South Pacific’, made from the album’s recording sessions, as captured by producer John Leckie. The package, which comes in a lift-off-lid box, also includes four post cards, a poster and a 48-page book featuring new interviews and previously unseen photos.
ANS Undoubtedly one of the most powerful British rock statements of all time The Verve’s second album spawned three Top 40 singles – ‘This Is Music’, ‘On Your Own’ and ‘History’. For this sumptuous 3-CD boxed Super Deluxe Edition the original audio has been remastered by Chris Potter (co-producer of their ‘Urban Hymns’ album) and comes augmented by all of the associated B-sides, two previously unreleased BBC radio sessions and seven unreleased studio tracks, including early versions of ‘The Rolling People’ and ‘Come On’. The package comes in a lift-off-lid box covered in silver mirrorboard as with the original LP release and contains four postcards, a poster and a 36-page book with new interviews and previously unseen photos.

So were getting at least 7 unreleased songs? Fuck yeah! And if the ANH takes of Come On and The Rolling People were produced by Owen Morris, then they may just be the definitive versions....

Thanks for the news. I'm probably going to have to order these as I have a feeling they won't be released in North America.

Absolutely cannot wait for this! Had no idea that Muhammad Ali was that old, either! What a time to be a Verve fan.

Some omissions I've noticed:
-Country Song: recorded during the ANS sessions but received overdubs before being released as a b-side to Bittersweet Symphony.
-Black and Blue: played live in 1994.
But what were getting is still great!

Why am I only seeing this now?? Fantastic stuff! That's how a remaster should be done - most importantly, actually releasing it instead of announcing and forgetting. Definitely looking forward to hearing the b-sides, never got a hold of those.

"Remix" by Chris Potter? A bit concerned hearing that. Thought this was a remaster. Still excited for it, but please Chris don't put strings on 'The Sun, the Sea'. Leckie's original work is a masterpiece.

I know that Blue Pacific Ocean ended up online during the Forth era (intended to be a b-side?) but is there any indication of when the song was written? Good song and it certainly sounds older. The Verve were incredible early on particularly with the EP and A Storm in Heaven.
