maybe im just getting old and grumpy but thats NG + Stone Roses shows going onsale within weeks and im not fussed about either. i just cant help but think ive seen all they have to offer before and cant justify paying for tickets, travel etc to see a 15 minute fools gold for the 3rd time. Its a shame because only 2 years ago Glasgow Green was so amazing, but i dont have the enthusiasm now

As an American, I'd rather have a batch of new tunes. Even if the songs are mediocre, it'd be great just to hear how the band sounds 20 years later. I'd imagine the grooves would still be tight and the licks tasty. These gigs are just a cash grab and I say that with respect. if you're from Britain you have no excuse not to see them if you haven't yet.

The band that changed my life. The music I listen to. The way I dress. The way I wore I hair. Will I be going to see them? No. I want to remember them as young men in their prime, not middle-aged blokes doing it for the cash or because they have nothing else to do.
As LightsOffInside says though, release some new stuff and do some smaller indoor gigs and I'll cave.

I missed out on seeing them last time so naturally I'm over the moon that I'm now going to get an opportunity, regardless of whether they have new material or not. I expect they will have though, surely they can't have just been twiddling their thumbs these last few years?

The Stone Roses in 1990 were the best band there ever was imo. Even better than Oasis in 1996.
Even 26 years past their prime, I'll be happy to see them live. They sound pretty amazing on all of the 2012/13 bootlegs I have and I'm hoping they'll sound even better in person.
It'll be nice just to be there for the experience though regardless.

I'd just be very intrigued to hear what it would sound like.

I can't agree with that, I'm afraid (I know you didn't ask me to, but whatever) Oasis in 96 were an absolute powerhouse. The generations best songwriter, writing songs for the generations best frontman/lead singer to sing. Scary good.

Oasis became the mainstream by 1996, everyone and their granny was singing Wonderwall and saying madferit. In 1990, the Roses were a cult act, had a huge cult following like, but were still outsiders to the mainstream and it felt like being part of a special thing to follow them and be into that whole scene, it's hard to explain unless you were there.

Actually quite nervous about getting tickets tomorrow. I know I shouldn't be but spending over £120 for two tickets... Feels weird. Hard to explain really.

Totally get globe and all the others saying they're not gonna go, cause they want to remember them as they were in their prime. But as I've never seen them (and there's f all else to go and watch these days, besides Noel and maybe the Arctic Monkeys) I thought I'd try and get myself some tickets. 12 minutes of refreshing the page, and I've finally got myself a pair. Back of the net!

Two extra dates added, that's about 240.000 people jesus christ. What are they going to do now? Not even a London show?
I was positive about a new album but...

Really disappointed with Ticketmaster though. Only 10 minutes or so after tickets had gone on sale, there were already hundreds of tickets being touted at stupid prices on their sister site GetMeIn. Highly suspicious if you ask me.
Really glad they announced that 4th night, don't think anybody saw it coming! Hopefully it will completely mess things up for the touting sites.

In the chipper last night and the young lad serving me, he must have been about 15/16, asks if I like the Roses. Goes on to tell me that he got tickets to see them, could tell he was so excited. Great to see kids his age still getting into them. He looked pretty shocked when I told him I'd been a fan for about 26 years!

I got tickets about 9:40am.. Didnt even queue on seetickets. Just opened it up and it went straight through. It was only later on when I was talking to people I realised they were quite difficult to get, most people I know missed out... I must have been super lucky
