Will there be a b-side on both of the singles? Or is it just All For One and Beautiful Thing?

On second listen I'd give it about a 7/10, I still think the song could of done with going up a level as it's 7 minutes long, like I said you're almost expecting it to have a big chorus but it never comes. Love the groove to it though.

It has definitely sounded better on repeated listens. It's alright but not a patch on anything from the Debut Album. I prefer jangle pop Roses to 70's funk rock Roses anyway. I decided to have a look at the Roses forum and they seem to think it's the greatest thing ever. I think anything that wasn't a 3 minute stomper would have been classed as brilliant TBH.
A solid 7/10.

I get what people are saying about it not having the big chorus but sometimes you just need a big slab of blissed out Roses funk in your life. I've ordered the vinyl, really looking forward to listening to this very loud on that format.

Does feel a bit Poor-Man's-Fool-Gold to me. It's good, but I don't think anything about it is great; if had a bigger chorus, or a more memorable groove, or a more melodic solo, or just anything to really make it stand out, then it would be a great tune. As it is though, pretty good and a much needed improvement on All For One.

I misheard ’You say you love John Lennon' as 'You say you love your lemon'... Anyway, like this track, wouldn't sound out of place on Golden Greats with its flow

A day later and I still really enjoy the new song. nothing flashy but what the band should sound like in 2016 after decades off. A day after hearing "All For One" I was tempted to delete it off my hard drive forever. Just don't see the need in returning to that tune. Hopefully that was a one off and won't be on any album or EP.
BURN THEM ALL!

Just pre-ordered "Beautiful Thing" 12 inch and received a digital version too. Quite "Second Coming" style, but good tune to dance. I can imagine millions people dancing with this song in stadium. Will there be a b-side on both of the singles? Or is it just All For One and Beautiful Thing? Both singles have no B-side.

Couldn't compare it to Fools Gold (even if just to call it a "poor man's" version of it) with Mani's bass so low in the mix Maybe that's what was needed to make the tune more memorable, a funkin' bit of Mani bass...

All I can say is if you aren't impressed with this track I'm not sure what else you'd expect from a band in their 50s with matured lives and families and have surpassed the shimmering pop phase of their youth. This track unlike AFO is exactly what I expected: a laid back groove powered by Reni, Mani and John with Ian doing his own thing as if he was solo.
If this track didn't do it for you, probably nothing else will. I do indeed want something that rocks abit harder like on SC but has that psychedelic twist. At least that is my expectations from the group. Not sure what anyone else was expecting. They're far beyond replicating the sound of the debut and Fools Gold.

I think the Stone Roses were up until 1990, a brilliant band and they were lauded for it. The 60's influenced dance guitar pop has always been welcome, even now but that is not what any of the members of the group clearly aspire to attempt to create anymore and that's fair enough. Yes they have grown up, but from what I've heard with AFO and BT, it is pretty much the SC, 70's Zeppelin influenced Squire guitar porn with Ian Brown's modern solo stuff mixed in. It's nothing out of the ordinary and nothing really progressive. But saying that, I don't know what progressive is in 2016 but I prefer to listen to Tame Impala and the like for my guitar music now and BT really hasn't caught my attention nor reeled me back in.

Well yeah, this is heaps better than All For One.
It's laid back, summery and it has those awesome Reni drums and some nice bits of guitar. I also dig those vocal effects. Will definitely have another listen. Or 100.
My only complaints are that -yes, it's been said in practically ever reply before mine, I'm aware of that- you can't hear Mani. Which is a tad stupid. Also, 7 minutes is slightly too long for a song like this. It outstays it's welcome a bit.

According to recent rumors that Ian's going back solo very soon, I can definitely see a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers situation with the Roses.

In regards to them playing Begging You again, what are everyone's thoughts?
It's definitely split opinion on the Stone Roses forum. I'm kind of torn on whether I think it's good or not.
Reni's backing vocals and drumming is absolutely fantastic, he elevates the song massively. As well as that, Squire's guitar playing is a joy to listen to (as always) and Ian sings it fairly well in my opinion.
On the other hand, there's something about the song's rhythm and pacing that makes it not translate well when played live. From the footage I've seen, they just don't seem to be able to quite nail it down and they didn't on the Second Coming tour either. It just seems a little bit all over the place, especially in comparison to the tight and well-oiled arrangements of songs like Fools Gold, Waterfall etc. that they've played many times now.
Then again, I don't think they've ever done 'Sugar Spun Sister' any justice when playing it live but it still manages to make it into the setlist more often that not.
I do hope that they bring back a few other rarely-played songs at the Etihad gigs to spice things up a bit. Maybe new arrangements of Tears, All Across The Sand, What The World Is Waiting For etc.

Don't really hear the Second Coming vibes myself - melodically yes, kinda similar to Breaking Into Heaven. But the guitar, bass (for what you can hear.... thanks Epworth...) and drums have the same stylings as the period immediately after the debut album. I struggle to hear the blues rock influence on this - it's the funk inspired hip hop rhythms that interim period between their two LPs.
It's a chilled track - perfectly Madchester and I get the summer vibes. It's not really meant to have a big chorus and I like it's restraint personally. I'm sure if you were in a club and the Gary's kicked in, it would 'blow yer heed aff'.

Absolutely, I half expect the song to go on with "listen up sweet child of mine..." when the chorus kicks in. Not that that's a bad thing, a funky version of Breaking Into Heaven is as good as you could expect from 2016 Roses.
