Will probably need more listens yet, but what does everyone think of the production?
And did anyone catch that "You say you love John Lennon" line?...

Had one listen, echo the 'builds but didn't end up anywhere' vibes. It's OK. It sounds like a mix of something off The Second Coming and an Ian Brown solo record which to me isn't a good thing.

Its weird how one song can affect what I think of another. I didn't hate All For One in the first place but hearing it straight after it felt a bit more natural. For the record though, anyone who likes a smoke will currently be drifting off to another slow motion universe populated by dancing animals. Yeah I was just thinking "Fucking hell if I had a spliff while listening to this".

Not bad.
Reminds me the Ian Brown solo work atmosphere.

Really liking this song, much better than the shite that was All For One. How fucking cool is Reni's drumming? 7.5/10 for me on first listen.

I was just going to order both AFO and Beautiful Thing singles but the delivery will cost 13.5€. Hmm...
Ah, fuck it. Stone Roses is one of my favourite bands. I even liked All For One so 30€ isn't that bad price.

Thank goodness this was released. It's a proper track indeed. Not the psychadelic rock monster of Begging You, but chilled and laid back, grooves like a motherf*cker and sounds exactly what I would've expected from them. Ian bringing in his hip-hop oriented solo sounds but taken to another level by Reni's drumming. Squire is great as well (as always) . One thing bothering me about it is Epworth's production - I need to hear it with headphones but I don't here Mani's bass whatsoever (which is kind of wrong eh?).
I'm guessing All For One was MOR bait but still I wished they had released this first. Would've taken my antipication and kept it soaring instead of plummenting down after reading this thread and listening to AFO.

Sounds better on 2nd listen. Sounds like Cant See Me mixed with something off Second Coming. It's alright.

The real news is that for the first time the often-cited various sources of NME were right Once again, the real heroes is the OP at Don't Stop. NME stole his information.

It does sound like it was working towards a big explosive outro of psychadelic porportions, but didn't get there. That's ok. The fact this is miles ahead of AFO does it for me.

Ok I can hear Mani on the Sennheisers - but the mixing of it is poor.

Must have heard it 10 times already. Proper belter of a tune, somewhere between Something's Burning and Can't See Me.

It's a much better song than All For One, much better, its sounds more like a cross between Second Coming and Ian solo, this is the sound which I was expecting for AFO at first, well done guys.

Reminds me of Second Coming.

Why wasn't this one the lead single, instead of All For One? All For One = Bring The Light, in every sense of the comparison. Seriously.

Sounds well produced, too. Really wish Oasis had similar production! It's a beautiful thing.

Was re-listening to that live performance of Begging You, man I love that song. Reni's drumming is insane. Squire killed it as well.

Instantly thought of Ian Brown's solo work, and Can't See Me. Annoyingly, after a few listens, the verses are reminding me of EMF's Unbelievable in their delivery.
It's OK. Like others, I was expecting it to take off but it kind of meanders.

If there's an album of songs like Beautiful Thing to come then I won't be complaining.

Now that's more like it! Not too keen on the mixing though, Mani's bass needs to be turned up.
Johnny Fucking Squire's still got it, the guitars in there are superb!

I thought it was quite boring on first listen. It's better the second time around but the "it's a beautiful thing" line is a little annoying after awhile
