I find the interesting thing about the die hard Stone Roses fans on there forums moaning and been heartbroken is down to the feeling of been had. For years they would sneer at Oasis fans whenever a new album came out with the 'Same old shit, The Roses would be so much more experimental' bollocks really believing there favorite band were some sort of creative geniuses and they genuinely believed it. So now they have finally released a long awaited new record and it sounds like an Oasis B-side. The laughter. It 2016 and Noel Gallagher is creating interesting music like The Right Stuff and While The Song Remains the Same and the mighty, legendary Stone Roses could only come up with that. Oasis 1 - Stone Roses 0 - As it always was anyway. Why does it have to be Oasis VS The Stone Roses? I'm going to throw my two cents in. The Stone Roses in 1990 > Oasis in 1996. I agree with some of what you're saying about the general consensus on the Stone Roses forum though, it seems a lot of them had their expectations too high.

And I wouldn't use Noel as one "creating interesting music". He's great and I love him and I love his records more than anything released by Oasis post 2000 but it's always the same cup of tea with the same chords. And The Right Stuff isn't definitely great, more like a nice try. Also both bands were brilliant at their peak. If we talk about bland material The Stone Roses have at least 3 bland albums to release before "challenging" Oasis I agree - though - that most Stone Roses fans are a pain in the...

All for one, ...As for the Oasis / Roses debate. They were never in the same era to me, The Roses belonged to the 80s, therefore they cant be compared. But the new single is Liam's Oasis wannabe.

It's not, until all you hear from they're forums is 'It's shit, like Oasis' then you get the fucking comeback both barrels. It looks like it is a standalone single as well. Like, in 5 years they couldn't come up with anything else. Amazing.

I actually like the new song for what it is. It's just the fucking buffoons that genuinely think that The Roses are some sort of Lap Technician Band when they have never been that at all. They're not Radiohead. They were a Dance Rock band originally with the first record and then went all Zeppelin with the 2nd. It was never really chin scratching music. They need to get over themselves. Some people just want to feel a lot smarter than they actually are. PS For all of Noels faults he has taken it in interesting directions over the past few years even with songs like The Death of you And Me. It's not Lab Rock but it certainly isn't Lad Rock either.

Internet forums aren't part of real life. Just don't take it seriously We're real people, expressing real opinions with other real people. So it is 'real' IMO, but obviously don't take it too seriously.

Catchy tune but the lyrics are horrific. Add that to the fact they are releasing it on CD and 7” with no B-Side is a joke.

I expected it to be worse, really. It's catchy, the sound is pretty great, it just lacks that spark that the early Roses songs had - it just goes on and on...

Disappointing. Makes the Second Coming look like a work of genius. Second Coming is a work of genius though! I love some of it but wasn't a fan of Squire's Led Zep fixation. On the plus side it gave us Love Spreads, How Do You Sleep and Ten Storey Love Song. This is just naff.

listen to the genius that is 'i am the resurrection' and then listen to this steaming pile of crap immediately after, it's depressing.

I'm not suggesting that "All For One" compares to classics like "Fools Gold" and "Waterfall". It's not even in the same league as "Tears".
It's still a fucking great song though!

If there isn't a new album to follow I'll be very disappointed in them.
