Thanks! Off one listen I think it sounds a bit shite. I know lyrics were never the Roses' strong point, but "All for one / One for all / If we all join hands, we'll make a wall"?? Ouch.

But the last minute is exactly the same as the rest of the track...

I was always excited about the Rose's return but my expectations weren't really that high. The song is slight, no doubt about it and the lyrics are balls but Squire is magnificant and its wonderfully produced.
If there is more weight to the other tunes then the album can support something like this in the same way WTSMG could have a Roll With it or DM a Up in The Sky.

The Beady Eye comments are very true. Imagine they released this as their new single, people would of absolutely shit on it and took the piss out the lyrics, but because it's Stone Roses, it's incredible. It's a decent tune, I like the guitar riff all the way through it but it's hardly amazing is it?

Yep, mind made up - it's appalling. 4 years to come up with that? Even worse, 22 year wait for that? Christ.

The lyrics are shit but musically, I like it. Buoyant and bubbly, but still with swagger. Very Beady Eye / DBTT feel to it.

Gotta say I'm leaning towards the negative with this one atm. As a lesser album track I'd have absolutely no quarrels, it's a pretty fun number. But as THE comeback single?? No. The Beady Eye shout is a good one and I mean that in the worst way possible. I can't say I care for the arrangement and I find it far too repetitive (it sounds a big idea short). All that said, the guitar work's nice and the drum break before the solo is neat.
Dud or not, I still have hopes that they'll produce a nice tune or two.

Whoo, this was disappointing. Can't believe we've been waiting for THIS for all these years. I find it boring, the lyrics are appalling and yes, it does sound like some shit Beady Eye song Andy came up with.
Expected much better.

To sound like Beady Eye is not a bad thing. That's the way of thinking, we've gotta rethink. I think it's up there with the Morning Son

It's an odd one. They don't have a patterned history of releasing records so it wasn't the case of an Oasis release where you kind of knew the first single would be the singalong 'banger' and then you would get the anthem, Noel tune etc.
It was up in the air what we would get, would it be the 60's psychedelic dance rock tunes like I Wanna Be Adored or She Bangs The Drums or would we get the 70's Zeppelin influenced Second Coming sound. It wasn't going to be like Browns later solo material as it was so far in the Electronic/Barely any guitars area for Squire to go all Jimmy Page.
What we got was interesting though. It was, for all intense and purposes, a latter day Oasis first single or you could say, an Oasis B-side. It's the anthem, the banger. 50,000 people will sing a long to it. I like it, but I didn't know what to expect and I ultimately thought they were more interesting than that. It doesn't sound like the Stone Roses, it sounds like Ian Brown and the Oasis backing band. Bizarre.
I'm looking forward to the album, if there is one. Maybe they will expand from there. When you see Noel doing things like BOTMI and The Right Stuff and then you hear All For One it makes you wonder.

My expectations weren't great anyway, especially after all these years.
So I'm not too disappointed cos it's not like it's shit.
