To keep the trend that has developed over the last 9 years, here's the official Arsenal thread.
So I just realized that it's the Community Shield between Arsenal and Chelsea next Sunday (Aug 2nd). The curtain raiser to the 2015/16 Premier League Season. Very optimistic for the nine months ahead. Come on you Gooners!! #WengerIn #COYG
Can do with a striker and/or DM. I reckon DM is needed much more, but a striker would make our offense fucking unstoppable. Arsenal have one hell of a squad now, just one or two more purchases and we will be right up there at the end.

Looking good...would like a striker though. Giroud is class but there are games that he just doesnt cut it. Away to chelsea lets say, up 1-0 think Suarez/Diego Costa chasing ball down and when on the ball in chelseas half isolated they could run with the ball and hold it up till support arrives or win you a free-kick to relieve the pressure. I would take Aubameyang or Lacazette.

The club that has spent over £400 million since they last won the league. 3 FA cups to show for it. SMERT.

Arsenal 0-2 West Ham Abysmal. I was wondering before the game if Cech would be nervous on his Arsenal debut (especially with being even more focused on after Courtois mishap yesterday), but thought professionalism would rule. It did not. Cech succumbed to the nerves, which is really frustrating as Seamo and Jens would never have. But then there was The Coq, who made mistake after mistake, and is more at fault for the second goal than Oxlade, regarding giving the ball away. But, speaking of Oxlade - he was the only player providing any sort of spark. We created 22 shots on goal, but was utterly toothless. Slow, pedestrian, clueless. Why play at such a slow pace, which allows the opposition to get back and set up? Mind boggles - the Arsene Wenger of old would blitz the opposition. Are we really back to walking the ball in? I thought we were done with that shit three years ago? I wonder if losing the opening game, to a lesser opposition means we won't win the league now or mount a title challenge. But then I think of 2001/02 where we lost to Leeds 2-1 in the SECOND MATCH yet still were crowned champions. ( news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_prem/1496409.stm ) But just fuck.

Cech has lost as many matches with Arsenal as a local as his time with Chelsea.

Reckon we will finish 2nd and will lose six matches all season. Think we need a top quality new LB and CD and then we're ready.

They are not champion winning left backs at all. CD is interesting: I really love Koscielny, very underrated. But Per is too slow and hesistant for me. Gabriel is untested. And Chambers does provide just enough depth, so I can do with what we have for one more season, then I think it's time for Per to move on. DM is a must. I know everyone loves The Coq, but I'm not sold. Plus, Arteta (who oddly is still captain) is not good enough. But I don't think AW is bringing in a DM this year, which could be a fatal decision. I think he's only adding a Striker, which is good. But it's not enough and we'll probably fall short again due to being 1-2 players short once more. Ugh. Recycle indeed.

Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal
It needs to be said: Arsene Wenger got everything right today - the starting lineup, the substitutions, the tactics. And with more match fitness, we would have scored more. Here's to a Chelsea loss, next.

No Koscy or Per today. Not optimistic (but am I ever?). Let's see if Chambers and Gabriel can do the damage.

He's a maniac, maniac on the goal line. And he's goalkeeping like he's never goalkept before.

Paulista was great in defence today, Chambers was lucky not to have helped concede three goals in the first half.
Liverpool and Rodgers seem to have got their act together defensively - the signings of Clyne and Gomez are superb, and Lovren looks completely different to last years shambles.
Fair draw.

Thought Liverpool were the better team, Arsenal were lucky to keep it to a draw
