I don't get the hate for LATD. Love the tune, very nostalgic feeling. Great sone to drive and walk to. The video is a good one too, I don't mind the live videos as long as they're done well.

I take these kinda live videos with some nice captions of the atmosphere at the gigs over ridiculous supposed to be "story telling" videos à la If I had A Gun any day. Plus, the backstage sequences are very interesting, they make me wish for a tour documentary.

One of my least favorite tracks from the album. Bland production, watered down Oasis song. Poor choice in my opinion.

I think it will sound good on the radio, but it's the one track on the album where I don't think he quite got the production right.

One of the worst from CY. I hate the artwork too, looks like a poor bootleg.
I'm quite disappointed with this album cycle, not saying that is a bad album but the tour, b sides and single choices have been very poor. Sometimes it feels like a throwaway album.

Why do people say it's watered down Oasis? It has nothing to do with Oasis. It's NGHFB. Thoughts of Oasis shouldn't even come into it.
Video is pretty good. Vast improvement over the horrendous Riverman video.

If that Lock All The Doors demo from Oasis wouldn't have made it's way to the internet, people wouldn't say it's "watered down Oasis".
Noel was the writer of Oasis but this is NGHFB and it's slightly different from Oasis. You want watered down Oasis? Stick on a Beady Eye album!
Finally watched the video just now. Love it. I hope there will be a touring documentary.

Good choice for the single at this time of year.
One of the album highlights in my opinion, level pegging with Ballad Of The Mighty I as the most driving, purposeful song on there.
As for the B-Side, I'm not expecting anything amazing but it should be a nice little song. As I described it before, a "fun ditty without profundity" (great wordplay).
It'll be nice to have something extra like that as an addition to the existing songs.

The official noel store shouldn't have a quote by noel mentioning oasis followed by a 'review' quote mentioning oasis. how do you print screen

Despite mainly just writing pop tunes and ballads, Oasis always maintained the reputation for writing very simple, very catchy, guitar driven 'verse-chorus-verse-chorus-guitar solo-chorus' rockers. Lock All The Doors has all those features, but it doesn't do any of them particularly well, hence, it's 'watered down Oasis'.
Some people on here raved about the tune when it came out, saying it felt like 95 all over again. Hell, I even saw a poster say they cried when they heard it the first time! And they're actually talking about crying with joy as well! Why then are people moaning at me and Matt, and a few others for basically agreeing with you? Yes, it does bear resemblance to Oasis, and it does make us realise how good Oasis were. Unfortunately, whilst it lets you lot reminisce in fondness about the glory days, to us it just reminds us how much better the tunes were back then. Therefore, the problem here doesn't lie in talking about Oasis on a HFB song, it's lies in the simple fact that our opinion differs from yours.
And for goodness sake, if you can't see the logical reason for people on an Oasis forum to compare Noel's solo stuff to Oasis (you know, the band Noel was the primary songwriter for for 18 years...), then you must be on all kinds of crazy drugs.

The artwork comes from the fans gallery on the website I think. That'd be a bit of an honour to be fair.

It's a great song and it'll probably sell well and be popular because of it's classic Noel anthemic chorus. I don't care about sales figures or chart positions personally but I know a lot of you on here do.
And the video is absolutely FINE. As is the artwork.

The video is cool, nothing special but it's not pretentious as some of the previous ones It's a matter of taste of course, but I really like videos like this that mix live footages with behind the scenes stuff, plus it's cool to see Noel not being his usual grumpy old man-self and having fun with the guys instead

jaq515's post encapsulates I think the whole argument. The whole selling point of LATD in the first place, and the hype that built up around it, was that it's a ressurected Pre-DM era Oasis tune that he's finally figured out how to finish. Alot of us for that sole reason had huge interest in it primarily for those reasons. If Noel never mentioned it was an old Oasis rocker and the demo never got on youtube, it would've been labeled as sounding just like a BHN/DM era tune just as we believe it to be, along with its clean production. Also, no one is saying in general HFB is watered down Oasis, but some tracks feel like they could be done with Liams vocals in my opinion (example Lock All the Doors). As for BDI, DGSS is complete watered down Oasis for me, but bar a couple tracks on BE, is that album really comparable to something from DBTT and DOYS? And the same with HFB1, some of those tracks especially with the Sardy take don't sound like they could've been retrofited with a brickwall and studio Liam vocals? That's my take on it. Both HFB and formerly Beady Eye have that Oasis heritage in them that makes it hard to get away from, so yeah some of their tunes will sound like Oasis as a whole could've done it miles better. And for the record I do like LATD, just think it could song so much better.

This is the un-numbered version of the vinyl. www.discogs.com/sell/release/3677322?ev=rbThe numbered vinyl goes for between £40-£100 I think, pretty steep!

I'll admit, I might have over-egged the pudding a bit, but you were right in there, only the one word needed, with a stunningly accurate critique of the song. LATD is indeed yawn-inducing, you're absolutely right...Good work!

As I've said, I really enjoy Lock All the Doors. And yes, I was one of the guys who got emotional when I heard it for the first time. And yes, it was me again who said that LATD was one of the highlights of the tour, and I'll stress that I jumped to it and sang every word at both the gigs I attended.
Should I be ashamed of myself?
