Release Date: 28th August B-Side: Here's a Candle (For Your Birthday Cake) So, 6 years later, a new single with a new b-side on a very special day... eh? it'll be 6 years since the split. Defo clever marketing, even the description mentions oasis twice on the Noel store. That date always has people tweeting etc so not a bad plan to gain some traction releasing an "oasis" song on that day.

Pre-ordered. Cool video. Good song choice. I do love that solo, so I'm not too gutted about it not being YNWCGB.

The guy looks really awkward when Noel hugs him at 2:50.
Probably because he knows Noel didn't wash his hands after taking a piss against a wall at 2:18.

Great video - Noel looks cool as fuck. Song's still shite though. Yeah I agree. "You want Oasis?! Well here's watered down Oasis! Yeah!" Would struggle to make a Definitely Maybe b-side in my opinion. Everything about it is flat - instrumentally, melodically, even vocally. I know right, and the last thing we need after after a run of albums like Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants, Heathen Chemistry, Don't Believe The Truth, and Dig Out Your Soul, is watered down Oasis... I did hope for something a little like Waiting For The Rapture when I first heard of this supposed rocking Oasis-esque tune on Chasing Yesterday, but really, the writing was on the wall for me not to like it when I heard the original demo and thought this "fucking amazing!" chorus Noel had talked about at such length, actually just sounded like something a shite indie band like Catfish and the Battlement might churn out. And then it doesn't help that, as you said, the recording is just totally flat. The drums are bland, Noel's vocal is bland, and the solo, which feels shoehorned in, is...yes, you guessed it...bland! It's only saving grace is that it's followed by three of the four best tunes on the album, in my opinion.

Some of you are speaking as if Lock All the Doors was a sort of Probably All in the Mind Part II It's not the best track on the album, nor the most interesting, the most original or the best produced. It has indeed some of the faults that you are citing (i.e., the overall "flatness"), but I really enjoy it to be honest... and it's a great live tune! Definitely one of the highlight from the gigs, imho.

I like this song. YKWCGB would have been a better choice, for all reasons Lennon mentioned, but does it really matter? It will chart at fucking #295 anyway, whatever choice he would've made. I expected this to be the single, since he regularly played this during chat shows. Can't believe they just used a picture of him playing TDOYAM for the cover though! Looking forward to the B-side and to watching the video when I'm back home.

Just ordered mine too. Man City blue Transparant pink Transparant Yellow Stll way to go to rainbow colour, Noel. For NGHFB 1, I only have 3 7 inch singles (The Death Of You And Me, AKA...What A Life and If I Had A Gun) and 1 CD single (AKA...What A Life). I also have his RSD releases (2012 and 2015). and I ordered 12 inch "Right Stuff" remix too. Just need Dream On and Everybody's On The Run 12" to complete the vinyl collection (plus the HMV vinyl), or if you're being really pedantic, the black vinyl versions of the 7" singles for this album too!

Nice single choice, and hopefully it does have some success. It's funny that this was announced today, of all days, because this was one of the songs on my shower playlist this morning. As far as the choice, and the song itself, I think that the choice was nice because it does have some sing-along qualities to it and it has a rocking spirit that can bring in many people. I would've liked to have seen You Know We Can't Go Back chosen over LATD, but I think the writing was on the wall with him performing LATD on the TV appearances he did, and plus the rocking spirit I mentioned just isn't there with YKWCGB. Either one would've been good, but I'm happy with what we're gonna get, and especially happy for a new B-side.

I was sort of expecting a LATD / YNWCGB double a-side.
Very happy to have a new NG song to look forward to. Well done Noel.

Its like when people buy the standard CD version of the album when they already have the deluxe version. Pointless.

All in all Chasing Yesterday is a great album. I listened today after a while, really enjoyed it, i think it's gonna be one of the most revisited Gallagher's records for me.

Assuming this will be the final single we will have ended up with 15 songs, not terrible for an album cycle.
Didn't we get 17 from the last album?

Does anyone want to swap a blue In The Heat Of The Moment 7" with a black Riverman 7"? Anybody? Never mind...
