2.) The second one showcases Liam's true voice with no effects. I do not like what I hear hmmmm yea, I know what you mean, I think he did a good job without the effects but some songs could have had a much better vocal, especially the acoustic ones, does sound abit thin and tired in some songs.

Nobody actually likes Beady Eye. Fuck, Beady Eye doesn't even like Beady Eye. The idea of Beady Eye becomes futile when an agreement to reunite Oasis was made late last year. Just my opinion! That will please you most of all! Whether I agree with it or not, blood is thicker than water and the minute they split up, I've always believed they will come back.

Nah, I don't believe that rumour which seems to stick to a specific date like every rumour before, but some time in the future I think it will happen and most probably out of the blue.

No, the band was pretty mediocre. Gave both albums a try but neither ever really did anything for me. There's a couple songs on each album that are passable but I never have the urge to say "I wanna listen to Beady Eye." That literally has never happened in five years. That's exactly how I feel. If I never hear a Beady Eye song old or new again I would not care. i wasn't able to see Oasis after the HC tour and I still would not pay to see BE live even if they were playing half a set of Oasis songs. That group leaves me completely uninspired. If they would have made an album with more songs like FOTF and FLW maybe I would have been more interested but most of both albums sound so dated.

Don't forget the COLOSSAL bad luck of Gem cracking his skull then breaking his leg just as they were about to go touring. They couldn't tour it, might have worked out better if they could have supported the record.

Of course I choose, that I like them! Saw them 3 times live and every single show was great! Sad, that the project Beady Eye did "loose"...

Have to say I've been really surprised at my own lack of interest in BE.
After being a massive Oasis fan I didn't get the first BE album for like a year, listened to it once or twice, hated it.
I got the second on vinyl because I loved the cover and I still have never actually gotten around to playing it. I will sometime, but I don't know ... I just can't stand the remains of Oasis just sounding like another dull band to me. It's too depressing. Never had that problem with Noel ... I knew he was still going to put out high quality stuff and he definitely has.
I will say that I liked that song 'World Outside My Room' or whatever it's called. I'll be happy if the second album has more like that.
I almost wish Liam had gotten together Guigs, Bonehead, Alan and a new guitarist to form BE. It might have looked ridiculous, but seeing them go full circle would have piqued my interest more.

No. In the clear light of day, without the Liam worship goggles on, the two albums they released are pretty shit.
FOTF is a good 45 seconds of music. Soul Love is a nice little tune. Other than that, mediocre to poor tunes. Liam, Andy and Gen couldn't write their way out of wet paper bag.

It is fascinating how many really artsy fartsy comments are here. BE sounds like a post 2000 oasis record mayve even braver. The song structures are not that different and altough Noel knows how to write some great lyrics here and there he is no dylan or cohen either. The lyrics in beady eye never wanted to change the world, they wanted to make rocking tunes they love. Some talk about their songs like they would sound like bieber tunes. I beg I pen a tune like Flick of the Finger or back after the break or soul love.

I prefer both albums to Noel’s last solo album. After all they’re all okay (although pretty mediocre). But I rarely put them on intentionally…

There should be a "meh" option. That's how I feel about Beady Eye. Aside from Flick of the Finger (really good) and a couple of songs off their debut (offensively bad) I can't get exercised one way or another about them.

Contrary to the prevailing opinion I regard FOTF as one of their weaker songs…

BE sounds like a post 2000 oasis record Therein lies the problem. A post 2000 Oasis album without the 2-3 killer NG-written tracks. Sounds pretty dire to me.

Andy Bell basically tried to replicated Noel's writing style. It allready sounded too much like a Noel Gallagher record. That is also a big problem that kept fueling all the L. vs. N. debate and ended in a lot hatred for the writer, that is Andy B.

IMO, I feel like Beady Eye are one of those groups that grow on you. You can listen to DGSS and BE at first, and think it's a bit shite (DGSS) and alright (BE), but after awhile you think about the tiny little moments within the songs that kind of make you smile, like the instrumental in Don't Brother Me, the hypnotic solo in Soon Come Tomorrow, the beautiful piano in The Beat Goes On, or the pure sincerness of The Morning Son, and you love it.
A nice little rock group that had its time of fun, no doubt.
