This might sound sacrilegious but to me thus far the new material doesn't come close to the sonic pleasures I found when leading up to Currents. Its good and all but I'm not hearing anything earth shattering like last go around. Its very poppy and safe. I remember when "Let It Happen" dropped. It literally melted my MacBook Pro into gue. Granted the remaining album songs couple send me into the next stratosphere. We shall see in a month. I would agree. It's missing that edge factor to it but still pushes ahead with the synth-psychedelic pop style. I'm waiting for that "wow" track as well because these tracks have been pretty MOR compared to some of the highest of highs on Currents and even Lonerism, and is sliding back into the reverb-y psych sound of Innerspeaker but in a safer, cleaner way. I hope the remaining tracks have that "wow" factor to it or else the album is going to be easy to overlook. This album has been delayed so much and tinkered with to death you’d expect that Kevin is really pushing boundaries. So far I’m not hearing any bold new creations. Just kinda the same from the last go around. No shame in that. Can’t hit a home run every time up. |

Not as hyped for this album as I was before hearing the new tracks.
I like it but like a few others i was hoping for a 'let it happen' wow moment.
These songs are sounding fairly mellow.
'lost in yesterday' is good but the song stays on the same level.

Horrific quality. Excited about this Gorillaz/Impala collaboration coming down the pipe. Skimming the tracks I really dig Tomorrow's Dust and Glimmer. That second reminds me of the best parts of Born Slippy.  |

This is definitely leaking in top audio quality in the next 24 hours. Record stores are now receiving their shipments starting today (Thursday). So many record store employees are posting pictures of the vinyl on social media platform. Only takes 1 hero folks.

A CD rip is now out. It is like the 9th version of the attempted leak. The prior 8 were shitty LQ versions of the initial leak. None of them worth the time of day. Its been a real shit show over on Tame Impala discord and Reddit. Never seen such disarray.

I have listened to it once, I enjoyed most of it.
'Breathe Deeper' my favourite so far and could end up being one of their best tracks.
NME said the second half of the album was weak but tracks 5-10 was the best part of the album.
I would of loved for 'Patience' to get the slow rush makeover that 'Borderline' got.
I Wasn't digging the last track but it got better as the song went on, the last 2 minutes was a very nice finish.

Listened to the album a few times, the 1st play didn't impress me but the following were very pleasant. For sure, most of the singles are on the weaker half of the record (or lesser good), which is a good thing. In my opinion, there was a place for Patience on this record. My favourites changed a bit since yesterday, I'm in love with Tomorrow's Dust. I can't see Breathe Deeper being a single, for me it's the perfect song to discover listening the entire album (something like Be Careful What You Wish For on WBTM). On the other hand, I'd love if Instant Destiny was released as an warm up for the album, powerful song, would've impress a lot of people who weren't impressed with Borderline or Lost in Yesterday.
