Thanks, guys! It's the same in France and Germany...somehow, in every other nation, people are able to speak and understand english. If they did subtitles, it would be okay, but this spoils it for everyone. Even as a german I'd prefer to understand what the guests really say instead of having to listen to some voice translating into german...

Got it, listened to it, and I like what I hear. As ever with Blur, will need to spin it a few more times but first impressions are that they have left off from where they halted all those years ago. Still can't believe I'm listening to a new Blur album, feels like the old days - the nostalgia is getting to me a bit!

So Blur is doing a free show at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg in Brooklyn on Friday. I managed to get a ticket today, did anyone else try/get a ticket also?

Listened to it today,I'm not the biggest Blur fan in the world although I enjoy their music and I have to say I think this is a pretty good record My Terracotta Heart still remains my favourite, beautiful beautiful tune,Pyongyang and Thought I Was a Spaceman are fantastic too And the two singles (There Are Too Many Of Us and Lonesome Street) and Ong Ong are catchy as hell I still can't stand Go Out,which is only saved by Graham amazing guitar work and I'm not too keen on I Broadcast,oh I like Ice Cream Man too New World Towers,Ghost Ship and Mirrorball are alright

The album is fucking trash. The sound of a past their prime boyband desperately trying to phone it in. Being a pop band, Blur used to have some sense of melody (though their music was always very piss poor); this is all just soulless tuneless wankery.

Blur are a band that I enjoy when listening, but I find it hard to care enough to listen much. Also Damon's vocals are grating beyond belief. I doubt many people will be listening to this in a few years time.
That said however I do like Ong Ong.

Not trying to bring the Oasis vs Blur thing up, and this is a really good album - not great but it has a lot of really stunning moments, but it is very consciously trying to be a Blur album. Each song harks back to a different era Lonesome Street (britpop era), Go Out (self-titled), Thought I Was A Spaceman (13), etc. They are Blur and will always make Blur music, but I can't help but think that Oasis if they made another album sticking to the same formula that they would get spit on for sticking to their sound.
The Magic Whip is more adventurous than most if not every Oasis album, but it isn't all that adventurous for Blur. Great songs on it and its good to hear them back together again, but I hate it when critics are hypocrites.

I'm no Jimmy Fallon guy but he certainly has a way with musical artists. Almost famous. I think in his heart he always wanted to be a musician. He has a real passion for it.

It's cool to hate Oasis, the critics usually praise Blur because no one cares about them but their fans.

Noel will probably come on and do Riverman (let's hope he won't mime again) and then fuck off. Has anyone actually asked him why he has mimed a couple of times?

I'm sure Fallons people pitched an idea to him of donning Beatles wigs and doing a cover.
