The live performance was absolutely magic. Blur/Damon albums have always been different to Oasis/Noel albums in that way. Oasis/Noel albums are packed full of tunes and memorable lyrics, whereas Blur/Damon albums are meant to be listened to as an album from start to finish, as an experience. Maybe the songs aren't ALL catchy and as re-listenable as are the likes of Noels, but they are still masterpieces in their own right.
I can't wait to listen to it in its entirety, some incredible-sounding songs and great performances from the band members. Particularly Damon's voice, it's hauntingly good.

I've heard all of those songs posted here and like it all, but none are as great as For Tomorrow, Parklife or Tender.

I've heard all of those songs posted here and like it all, but none are as great as For Tomorrow, Parklife or Tender. You could say that's like comparing CY to Supersonic and Live Forever...but I kinda agree. The new stuff is good, I like everything I've heard so far, but it's further from their glory days than Noel is from his, for example. It's somehow lacking that bit of genius that most Blur albums had in a few songs at least.

I liked the new songs, but I can't see they becoming classics like Tender or Parklife, even that single wich they released some years ago, Under The Westway, sounds more like a classic Blur song than those on the new album.

Ong Ong sounds great! Really upbeat, honestly Damon's voice is just as good as it was 20 years ago, incredible!

This has leaked. I haven't listened to it yet in full besides the tunes we have heard. Ong Ong is the best thing I've heard and I have to say that's a great blur song. I'm not expecting the album to yield a impactful classic song, but they can release solid/good to hopefully great material now that they are back together. Coxen and Damon are tough to bet against.
It is interesting to think that if Oasis reunited to make an album in the next 3-4 years, I wonder if it'll be as good as what Blur is releasing. Noe and Damon are pretty equal in terms of quality of songs over the past decade. Damon might have more variety but Noel makes up for it in quality.

I've just listened to it.
I'm not the biggest Blur fan to be fair, but the whole album didn't impress me that much. There are some good moments but most of the rest is a bit plain... I was expecting more.
At the moment my favorite track is Pyongyang... let's see after a few more listens.

Meh. Boring, cheesy, all the songs almost sound the same. I've seen someone writing that I Broadcast is like Song 2. Are you drunk?
Still prefer Damon Albarn's solo album.

Only two listens so far, but it sounds a bit like Damon's solo record with Coxon guitars. Didn't expect that at all. It's reeeeallly close to everyday robots sonically. Too close.
Under the Westway and The Puritan would fit on the record too.
sure it'll grow but i'm bit disappointed that we've heard almost all the good bits of the record already.
Cant really dig "Spaceman", other than i really need a few more listens. But it does sounds like described : 5 days rushed recording, and then bits added by Coxon. Will this stand the test of time ? hmmm, hmmm

This looks awesome but it is really hard to believe because of the songs i have heard so far and because of what are you writing here.
