I like the song, but the transition from the verse into the chorus could be better. It just kind of... happens. It's not crafted quite as well as Noel's best stuff from the period.

Will this be as popular as Berwick Street once was ? So Noel lives close to Little Venice. Nice

This is Maida Vale/Little Venice #2. He mentioned Tesco express. Here's the Tesco #3. Boots on the corner. Here's Boots on the corner (left)

I got up to page 5, hoping this was a discussion on how awesome this track is. How great it is to hear an 90's Oasis song, finally. But no. All I got was Liam's vs. Noel's voice. Feck off the lot of yer. Now, back to how awesome this track is.... Yeah, sorry, it's partly my fault. I fuckin' hate all this Liam vs Noel nonsense but it looks like it's impossible to say what a great song this is without dragging Liam into the discussion. Lock All the Doors is awesome, a pure 90s Oasis stomper... it nearly made me cry when I heard it for the first time. Can't wait to hear it in CD quality at full volume

As one of only two songs I've dared listen to (the other being Dying of the Light), I've got to say I'm almost wet with excitement for this album. After Noel's Morning Glory comments I put it on as loudly as my headphones would go and boy did that wipe out Sunday's hangover. All of sudden it was summer 1997 again and my arm hairs were up on end, eyes glazing over - it basically made me feel 100 ft tall! Guitar solo = check. Soaring chorus = check. Drum break = check. Loving the fact that it's a mash up between the original demo and the Coming on Strong demo as well. Who really cares if Liam would have done a better job on it twenty years ago? Noel's pulled out a belter with this one and I'd be happy if that was all he released - thankfully I've still got another seven new tunes plus the updated Revolution Song and Freaky Teeth! Bit peeved I'm only in seats for the MEN cos this tune needs jumping around to!

The start sounds like it's going to break in to 'The Nature Of Reality'.

This song would have been so much better with Liam on vocals

Love it.
Works so well between X-Ray and Dying of the Light.
Powerful, great solo... back to the 90's...
I'm sure if Noel write now Live Forever, lot of you will be crying for lack of rythm, easy chords... whatever...

I wonder what his epiphany outside Boots was? Hopefully not the verses?

I can't help but to think that this how some of the Be Here Now b-sides would have sounded if recorded again three years later.

Lock all the Doors is great the rhythm guitar is Morning Glory sped up. I think that's why it sounds so 90's. It's fantastic to crank very loud in the car!

I'm being sort of an asshole now but I wish the chorus went..
Lock all the doors And turn off the lights around us We can be sure like never before this time Get on the floor And maybe they'll never find us We can be sure like never before this time
That being said, this song has some of the albums best lyrics IMO.

It sounds just like the 2009 version of My Big Mouth.

I was going to create a separate thread for this, but I would get killed even more. I also want to profess that I'm not trying to be funny or controversial, and nor do I think rape is funny or amusing at all....
but Lock All the Doors is all about rape.
The entire lyrical content. I know Noel didn't mean it, but it's all there. Sorry, just a stark observation.

I don't see that at all.
The girl in question is assumed to be a free/carefree spirit, who seems like a lost and lonely soul because she's all on her own. And he assumes that she's into music because of the star shaped tambourine, and that she spends her nights dancing on her own. But, after that one encounter, he hasn't seen her since.
And the rest of the song is fantasizing about their next encounter, which I kinda find echos a bit of Slide Away, "And I want to try now, I'm gonna make you mine now, " / "All I know is you can take me there," in "I can be sure like never before this time," and, "You know it's mine... you know it's mine."
But while he has all these feelings for her, she has no idea that he even exists. AKA... Ballad Of The Mighty I.
And it's a once in a lifetime moment - Lock all the doors, live the dream to perfection, because this might be the only chance you get.
