Good point. Though I think Bag It Up, The Turning and Shock Of The Lightning weren't bad. Obviously he was referring to Beady Eye not DOYS... That's why I mentioned those songs. Would have been plausible if they were shitsongs, but these are good.

If this was another kick into The direction of Beady Eye then screw you Noel. Even if it was a joke its a Bad and pretty harsh one. There are some people that rate beady eye songs higher than hfb songs.

I still can't see Oasis reforming for at least another 4 to 5 years. And Liam won't take Noel's songs, he's way too proud for that. Which is a shame because Liam can't fill an entire album with his own songs, and it would be a great chance to get Oasis material without having to end HFB. wat Do you seriously expect him to? After BDI failing and his brother having success? Noel is basically offering to give him some of his songs that he doesn't need, accepting that would be rather humiliating. When they were in the same band it was what they did, now it would be Liam crawling to somebody who writes better songs than him...no way in hell that's going to happen.

Asked what type of songs he would hand to his brother, the High Flying Birds singer added: "Some fucking good ones, better than the lot he was singing last time for sure." Everyone is assuming he meant BE songs? What if he was on about DOYS.. ie. The last time he gave him songs to sing This was my interpretation as well.

I've not heard or seen the interview but reading that I'd have took it as DOYS

I still think he was mainly referring to, I know it was mentioned before, 'Come On Outside'. There's surely a lot of other songs that Noel has 'lying around'. He said he'd never enter a studio to record an album with less than 20 to 30 songs finished in its core. Looking at the Chasing Yesterday (including the deluxe edition), where more than half of these songs date back to the either Oasis or the first album/AA sessions, he's gotta have a massive backlog of unreleased songs just waiting to be recorded.

Probably has lots to be recorded properly. Still always baffles me why when he has this huge bank of songs, the gap between oasis albums got bigger and bigger. I understand a break from touring is good but it just came a bit too routine in the end. Spring album, summer tour, gone.

Noel buys into that cycle: album, tour, disappear. He just doesn't believe in releasing music without promoting it to the max. The downside, of course, is that it takes a lot out of him and those of us who love his music have to wait aeons in between records.

Everyone knows what Noel is like, he probably did mean to have a dig at BE, but incase any shit hits the fan he says it in a way he can backstrack and say he meant something else

Noel had banks of songs leftover but contractually he could only ever put a certain amount of songs on oasis albums after sotsog because he allowed others to start writing songs. As stated before this was one of the reasons oasis broke up because noels songwriting was becoming prolific again. And as hes stated the rest of the band arent great songwriters and when you listen to dig out your soul the song class between noels tracks and the rest of the bands are miles apart and what couldve been agreat album becomes just good and i think noel thought that his creative side was being hindered slightly . Saying that at first i do think they penned some decent tracks at there first couple of attempts especially liam .

Just that it would have caused strain of he had told them that nothing they wrote was as good as his stuff. I think locking them out of contributing songs to the albums during the recording periods in 2005 or 2008 would have led to a much more antagonistic split.
