Well Noel, I personally enjoyed BE more than HFB. They were doing something right.
Although, I suspect I'll enjoy Chasing Yesterday more than DGSS and BE. From what we've heard, I already do.

Liam will refuse out of pride and with good reason. And not unreasonably.
If he releases an album and it's even a moderate success. And by that I mean sales similar to DGSS. Then I think for a 2nd or third album having one song in cooperation with Noel would be great. 2 successful solo brothers putting the past behind them and working together.
Noel being connected with his debut would overshadow Liam's own accomplishments on the album. Even if you had great song of his own all anyone would talk about was the song he did with Noel.
No one can say that this wasn't a negative comment about Beady Eye. It was. I would assume it's because there is no point in Noel holding back not. The project flopped and is over.
I feel like Noel is daring Liam to react musically. To get off his ass and show to world what he's got.
For all their contentious relations. Noel took care of Liam for most of his adult life and from what I remember from Paul's book he used to act out and draw attention to himself when his father was drunk and angry to protect Liam and his mom from his anger so I think he had a somewhat protective attitude even back then. I can only imagine he would be at least a bit concerned about Liam throwing in the towel on music, his marriage, not showing up to mandatory court dates due to "exhaustion."
He's hardly to type to show proper concern and offer to listen to Liam's proper like he probably should. So instead he is pushing his buttons to try to push him into a productive path instead.
Well see if it works

I'd be okay with Noel and Liam collaborating on a Liam album. Or even on a Noel album.
In the case of a Liam album, I don't think it would be bad for Noel to give him a song or two as long as Liam is still fully writing the majority of the tunes.
What I'd love though is a song they both sing on. Think Acquiesce #2. Or Let There Be Love #2. Something akin to that type of collaboration.

I'm amazed that anyone can prefer BE to NGHFB.
Whilst I agree that people may prefer a different type of sound, it's all about the songs- the songs just aren't strong enough. I desperately wanted Beady eye albums to be amazing- but they just wernt..
If oasis reformed id want Noel to write the songs, there's not many non Noel written songs that I believe are in the top 8/9/10 out of 10 bracket of Oasis songs- turn up the sun, and songbird maybe but all the best ones are Noel- the non Noel songs from DOYS are awful..
I actually preferred the first album of Beady Eye. Four letter word and Beat goes on. Whilst I know they are predictable in sound it's the moments that make you just go wow!! Like Oasis did- there were moments in BE, chorus of SBOTA full blast was awesome and Flick of the finger melody was brill- but the rest wasn't brilliant.

ALTHOUGH...
I think the acoustic version of IZ RITE and I'm Just Saying are class.

i think it's noel just playing the press.
Every interview he gets asked about the oasis reunion (which is a disrespectful to him really as it's 'we are more interested in oasis and liam than you solo and your new album').
This way it will temper those questions as ties liam / noel together but shows noels is the main man etc.

The reason we've had a wave of insults coming from Noel this last 6 months is not because Noel is pathetically trying to grab everyones attention by blurting shit out, but rather, not so coincidentally, Noel has been very heavily interviewed by the media lately because he has a new record out. These magazines all want their own 'Noel Gallagher' news bite and thats why they all ask him the same questions... some of which will be asking his opinion on things. This is because Noel well known for speaking his mind and if they can get a "Noel slams ***" out of him they will. Noel hasn't masterminded who to insult over the coming months and it doesn't take a genius to realise that. In the same position, those who aren't afraid to speak their minds would do exactly the same... I know I would. I doubt Noel will be losing sleep at night over low album sales... he's a multimillionaire who's almost 50. Oh, and trust me... Noel's still funny. I hope the Beady Eye comment was joke, because I certainly laughed.  Songs for Liam Yeah, that was moderate indie hit in Germany two or three ago, released by a band called Kraftklub (not Kraftwerk). It's basically a love song, well rudimentarily, but the sentiment goes like "if you'd kiss me, Noel would start writing songs for Liam again." Nice analogy but I can't stand the band to be honest. It's not like your average Kraftklub fan, at least the sad few I've met, would have a clue who Liam and Noel are supposed to be anyway. |

if this is a joke it is not funny.
For me this is even a bad attempt at reaching a helping hand to Liam.
In my ears it kind of sounds like "give him my leftovers, still better than the stuff he did".
I believe in Liam and I know alot of you guys never got into BE, but for me the songs like "soul love", "start anew", "don`t brother me" had alot of soul and harmony in them, and yeah I know it seems everybody here is really fixed on the lyrics, cause this is the main argument against all Beady Eye songs, although there are great moments. I always wondered about this... sure Noel and LAG had all great lyrical moments but Oasis were never a band for me, when I needed thoughtful lyrics.
Liam had suffered under alot of pressure through the last year, I even think the imploding Beady Eye ending was hard for him, just because he had felt, that nobody cared, that he put his heart into it.
Try to bring these feelings on a tape, without thinking of chart positions and you will suprise us with a great record Liam.
Please don`t lose your pride and take leftovers from anybody.

Just do the reunion ffs Another Noel desperate for media attention this is so true. we all know every interview in the last 4 years mentioned oasis reunion, noel knows this, what the press want to know so why not say you'll give liam songs. this is the next best thing to get tabloid inches without effecting your current solo album |
