Couldn't see anyone talking about this and I'm not entirely sure where to put this. Noel on Liam:
"I'd write him a few songs, I've got a few songs lying around that he'd be good at singing. But I'm not sure what he plans to do or if plans to do anything," Noel said. Asked what type of songs he would hand to his brother, the High Flying Birds singer added: "Some fucking good ones, better than the lot he was singing last time for sure."

Surely this is as close as possible to Oasis, without being Oasis??? I'm not sure as too how serious Noel is being, but it reads pretty seriously... I think Noel is pretty down about Liam's current position. |

He should do a solo album collaboration with songs written by great songwriters - Noel one of them, some Damon Albarn tunes here and there, a bit of the Chemical Brothers thrown in - brilliant. It's basically Oasis without a full blown reunion meaning we get Noel's solo stuff and quality Liam solo stuff too. Meaning we basically get more than what a boring reunion would give us. Oasis without the excess baggage that weighed them down - baggage in the form of Andy Bell and Gem Archer.
Plus, any Liam songs written by Noel would bound to bridge the gap between the Liam and Noel camp on here!

Another excuse at a dig at BE? All i've seen Noel do when he's talked about BE is saying good things about them. Unlike Liam about Noel's solo stuff. |

How hasn't thread blown up yet...
This is nice news. I mean, I get that it's all in a jocular tone and all, but. It's nice to hear words that are somewhat positive. On its own this might not be all that great but Noel's recent words of encouragements (and back-handed compliments) are heartwarming.

I saw this a few minutes ago, and thought "Erm, isn't that just Oasis, then?" Also, I'd hate Liam going solo. I hope he doesn't. And I don't think he will. But yet another sign Oasis are closer to reforming. Shall we inch the Oasis Doomsday Clock up a minute to 11:56? Nah, we'll wait, but....tick, tock. |

Beady Eye had good songs (The Roller, Four Letter Word, Beat Goes On, Iz Rite) but they were never in my opinion greater than anything from Oasis besides HC. This could be an interesting collaboration, and I'd rather have this than a money fueled, overhyped Oasis reunion. |

If Liam ever decides to do a solo record, he'd be a fool not to take Noel up on his offer. Ultimately though, I think his pride would get in the way

Then Noel left, and Beady Eye started and they "failed". How do you think it will look if Liam comes crawling back to Noel? How it must feel for him? I can sorta see where he's coming from if he won't do it because he's too proud. |

Never gonna happen on terms "Liam's solo album = singing Noel's song ", of course, i think even Noel was joking. But this and a few things, like that they are speaking again allows us to assume that it's getting better beetwen the two, (man !!) and this is always a great news. Another thing that this means to me is that Noel is in fabulous mood before the new album release and very confident about his new songs  |

Unpopular opinion: Liam, I feel, has a lot of great songs in him. If everybody can agree that he has had at least ONE good tune that we've heard (and it could be different for everybody), then I'm damn sure he can do it again. We are with endless potential, and there's no reason to believe that a barrier that's already been breached by a human being can't be conquered again.

Looking at the comments above I honestly don't see how Noel taking the piss out of Liam indicates we're closer to a reunion! I read the opposite.
