Chasing Yesterday on iTunes Store #4 Japan [Limited Edition] On amazon.co.jp #42 [Limited Edition] Mad feeeeeeeeeeeer it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eeeeeesh, that doesn't look good. We'll see how it holds up through the week, but if #4 is it's peak position on opening day of sales then that doesn't bode well for the rest of the week. This should be his strongest day.

Yes, he's promoting his album there a lot and a non-Top 3 would be shit, Unless a bunch of artist famos there are releasing the same day something like in Italy this time.
Anyway it is still 6AM or so in Japan and they buy a lot on record stores.

Physical Discs still outsell digital files by a wide margin in Japan, and Amazon is not the dominant e- commerce site within the country.

I was wrong, it's 4 AM in Japan now - The streaming session on iTunes was a good idea from Noel's management. Yesterday CY was around #30 - 20, right now #10 and #145. Album: Chasing Yesterday #4 Ireland #4 Japan #10 United Kingdom #16 Israel #23 Norway #25 Italy #39 Sweden #43 Mexico #48 Denmark #49 Russia #52 Germany #54 Egypt #56 Belgium #58 Hong Kong #58 Ireland #66 Switzerland #71 Australia #74 France #84 Brazil #90 Ukraine #92 Japan #96 South Africa #111 Italy #145 United Kingdom #164 United Arab Emirates #170 Canada In the Heat of the Moment #25 Ireland #58 United Kingdom #96 Israel #127 Italy #138 Russia #153 Norway #161 Switzerland #169 Ukraine #191 Germany Ballad of the Mighty I #20 Ireland #37 United Kingdom #65 Italy #95 Israel #97 Bulgaria #115 Belgium #119 Germany #154 Brazil #154 Norway #158 Russia #181 Switzerland Revolution Song #3 Argentina #7 Ireland #10 Luxembourg #11 United Kingdom #11 Sweden #12 Peru #23 Finland #23 Ukraine #25 Brazil #42 Mexico #45 Belgium #49 Poland #49 Spain #53 Czech Republic #58 Chile #59 El Salvador #62 Italy #64 Russia #66 Netherlands #73 Norway #75 Malaysia #78 Israel #80 Lithuania #86 France #88 Denmark #88 Thailand #95 Paraguay #120 Japan #126 Indonesia #127 Hong Kong #128 Singapore #166 Germany

Physical Discs still outsell digital files by a wide margin in Japan, and Amazon is not the dominant e- commerce site within the country. Remember, Noel significantly undersold in Japan last time out. He only had opening week sales of 22k last time out, only 6k more than Beady Eye's performance with DGSS. It's NOT an automatic that he will make that up in physical sales. He needs all the help he can get. But what do I know? People said the same when I was predicting significant drops for Beady Eye, up to 2/3rd of their audience. Seems like an easy prediction now, but people weren't buying it then. Right now, the numbers out are only okay. The rest is assumption. Just like the assumption that Noel will make up his numbers in physical sales, just the same as was made the last time, you know, before Noel underperformed.

Errr, now that #3 doesn't look that good since it's 6PM in Japan. But according to wikipedia 80% of records are bought physically in Japan, so iTunes is just a little slice.
Anyway CY is definitely looking good on iTunes UK: #6 & #138 And on Amazon UK: #2 and #43
He's doing quite good in Germany, last time NGHFB didn't even chart, apparently. #15 on iTunes and #11 on Amazon.

Chasing Yesterday at #3 on UK album charts. That's a lot of pre-orders. So Lock All The Doors is a free single? Is that why its #1? That's pretty good. Considering he has a couple live TV slots he should shoot to #1.

UK iTunes: #3 & 113. NGHFB #42 yesterday and charted at #65 last week on the Official Albums Chart. Streaming the album on iTunes was a great move UK Amazon: CY Deluxe #2 iTunes Japan right now: #1: Acid Black Cherry #2: Sam Smith #3: Noel (But Noel is #62 as well, Smith and ABC have not another version in the top 100). Now he's 2 anyway Amazon JP right now: Noel #33 Sam Smith is #64 Acid Black Cherry is #4 Apparently that Acid Black Cherry is big in Japan. This is an unlucky week for Noel, just like the Italy's one. 80% of records in Japan are bought physically, so this is only a little slice of the cake. Chasing Yesterday at #3 on UK album charts. That's a lot of pre-orders. So Lock All The Doors is a free single? Is that why its #1? That's pretty good. Considering he has a couple live TV slots he should shoot to #1. Lock All the Doors is an instant grat. All the people who have pre-ordered the album automatically got it. I'm guessing it won't be the next single since we all have it, basically. Meh.

Looks like barring something unforseen, Noel will go into Japan either #3 or #2. That's a good jump from the #5 he had last time. Still, it would be A LOT better if his sales also go up this time around.

Hopefully he'll get his #3 position in Italy after a #2, even if here nobody gives a shit about charts and things like that. He'll release it through Universal Music Italia which is strange since he's under Sony or something. Nek's album is #15, Noel's #21. Nek is #14 on Amazon, Noel is #85. The other rival Jovanotti (He'll sell more than Noel even if it will be his 2nd week, i guess) is #1 on iTunes, #1, 5, and 15 on Amazon. Also The Best of Tiziano Ferro might sell more than CY as well. It would be a shame for Noel losing the top 3, and maybe top 5, in Italy Unlucky week.
