It's funny cos NGHFB sold more copies in the UK than Blur's last 3 albums Wow, did not know that. That puts NGHFB numbers in perspective. It could be good publicity if they released the same week (and even better if Noel won) I like Blur but I do think that they became so famous because of Oasis. Not only for that, obviously. I mean, Parklife was a successful album even before Oasis, but after them they played the game with Oasis and that rivarly was good for Albarn & Company. Oasis never did it america, probably. But Blur's best chart position is #56. Even Beady Eye could do better. UK Think Thank (2003): Gold disc, 100k 13 (1999): Platinum, 300k Blur (1997): Platinum, 300k NGHFB: 2x Platinum, 600k (but he sold around 800k as of now). I don't think that Blur releasing the album that week would be good for Noel, or maybe yes. Obviously there would be a lot of talk an publicity for CY but now Albarn e Noel are friends and they know that Noel can beat them, even if they'll release their new album after 12 years. Losing again against a Gallagher (because except that ROll With It thing Blur were destroyed by Oasis) would be pretty shit for them. If everything is ready and complete If I was their manage I'd push to release that new album the week after Noel. Because they'll drop him to the #2 and the media/tabloids would write something like: "Blur beat Noel Gallagher bla bla".

I don't think they'd release the albums on the same day. Noel and Damon are mates now.

Damon and Noel can't hook up soon enough for a single, EP or album. Didnt Damon write/sing the Na Na Na's on ITHOTM. They sound a bit too blur like.. coincidence i think not (?)

He isn't listed on their roster. But certainly seems like he is connected with them as they've posted at least a couple stories about him on their Facebook. Website might just be out of date.

This has hung around pretty well on the itunes charts without ever being overly high. When all is said and done it will have a pretty decent sales total.
It will probably hit the top 40 this week with the vinyl release and Graham Norton.

It will probably hit the top 40 this week with the vinyl release and Graham Norton. CY Deluxe spent 50 days in the Top 100 of Amazon and 47 on iTunes. So the first week will be pretty good, we'll see after that. I don't think CY will match NGHFB's 51 weeks in the Top 75. Just like ITHOTM and BOTMI that have been destroyed by What a Life and TDOYAM In Italy he'll need a miracle to get the Top 5, and I don't believe in miracles. Jovanotti (he's big, he plays San Siro) will release an album the week before, Nek the same day. So, a Top 5 would be pretty good in this case even if NGHFB charted at #2.

Beady Eye might have entered the charts higher than Blur's self titled LP but it disappeared ASAP. Blur stuck around and sold 600,000 copies. Plus had a hit single that still gets played on radio and at sporting events. That's stuff Beady Eye would never sniff in America.

If Oasis never "did it" in America Blur highest chart position is 56. Oasis sold around 7-10 million copies there, Blur? 2-3 million?
