Took 2 weeks. Not so good. It's only getting like 20 thousand views a day now I think.

Ballad of the Mighty I (today) Official chart: not in the top 100Still waiting for 22 days from now to see how it does when officially released.... Well, if they're going to release it as a proper single on iTunes maybe it could do well. But not so well, I guess. Noel's fanbase probably already pre-ordered CY and already got Ballad of the Mighty I. Also they still have to start to push it on the radios etc. Just like ITHOM, it didn't get airplay until the week before the release

BOTMI is finally on iTunes Italy. I bought the deluxe version but I still have to pay because according to them I didn't buy it. Great.

With itunes you only pay when you download the track so You won't have paid anything for CY yet. You'll pay 0.99 euro (or whatever it is) for BOTMI but that cost will be minused off the album cost when it's out.

So can we start predicting where the album will place? It does have 5 months worth of pre-orders. Plus, many will buy the day of in store. How many units can we expect to shift first week?

BOTMI is the "hotshot" of the week at Studio Brussels. It had been played three times today! Funny remark one of the djs called it the ballad of the mighty one, he probably read the I as 1.

I don't want to say something crazy but I do think that Noel has 30/35/40k pre-orders in the bank. But it's not sure, obviously. Since ITHOTM sold 15k in the first week, and maybe 20k by now, plus BOTMI, Amazon CD. It's possible. For a 2nd week #1 he'll fight against the great Mark Knopfler and Madonna. Madonna's last album sold 131k copies in the UK (first week 55k). Hard Candy in 2008 335k. Knopfler's last album charted at #8. He released 7 solo albums, 1 top 5. Pure solo guys Noel can easily beat them, let's see if artists like Ed sheeran, Sam Smith etc. will keep their albums high in the chart with massive sales.

HFB1 1st week. According to wikipedia the album sold 61k copies in the US and 73k in Japan as of now. First week sales worldwide: 170k (120k in the UK).
#1 UK (122,530 copies) #1 Ireland #2 Italy #5 Japan #9 France #10 Belgium #10 Croatia #10 New Zealand #10 Switzerland #11 Netherlands #12 Norway #15 Spain #16 Australia #16 Austria #19 Canada #21 Sweden #27 Denmark #28 USA (#5 Rock, #5 Alternative) #29 Finland #33 South Korea #53 Mexico (No Argentina, Brazil and Germany? Strange)
Don't think he could match this without going out and playing the songs. In Italy he did 5/6 interviews with radio stations before the album came out and after the album came out. It looks like he's not going to do this nor playing at the Brits and NME awards. Basically he's releasing an album and promoting it while watching the tv on his sofa. Also HFB1 had a proper rock hit like What a Life, and nobody's giving a shit about BOTMI and ITHOTM outside his (pretty large, for being a solo) fanbase.
A good first week would be a #1 in UK, Top 3 in Japan, Top 3 in Italy, Top 15 in Spain, France, Canada, Australia and Top 5 US Rock/Alternative. 150/170k copies. Don't think he could do better than this while watching the tv.

BOTMI is #4 or 5 in the Alternative Charts in the UK at the moment, if I'm right. Looked at it yesterday. That's alright.

BOTMI is #4 or 5 in the Alternative Charts in the UK at the moment, if I'm right. Looked at it yesterday. That's alright. It's #69 on sales chart. Not bad, but not good too. The death of you and me and What a Life are killing ITHOTM and BOTMI. We'll see after the official release, but it's almost impossible for BOTMI to match WAL's success 15 weeks in the top 40. Except The Importance of Being Idle we have to go back to Stand By Me to see an Oasis related single staying so long in the chart

The Gallaghers are going the way of the Dodo.
I'm not expecting better sales/chart performance from this album over HFB.

I'd be shocked if he sold 60k in the US. MAYBE he pushed half of that. But he was only on the chart for two weeks with a first week sale of 15k. Those numbers on Wikipedia are completely inflated

His tour is more or less sold out, so I reckon he's OK with moderate album sales.

Considering he only did about 19k the first week and I think 7 or 9k the next week, it would have been very difficult for him to get 60k plus, but he did.
