Van was on Beats 1 with Zane Lowe last night, revealed that none other than Dave Sardy is producing the 2nd album. Van said that he's wanted Sardy to do his second album since he was 15/16, citing Don't Believe The Truth as an example of why. He literally praised him to the high heavens. @wadfalkirk Lennon2217What sort of drugs has Van been taking?! Whatever it is, give some to R'Dave and he might finally make an interesting sounding record.

This kid sounds like Noel Gallagher circa 1994 - I've got the first 3 albums written - I wanna play stadiums - It's all about the "music!" - He doesn't suffer writers block (that didn't last long for Noel. Buckle up) - We wanna break America - New single sounds like "The Kinks coverd by Queens of The Stone Age". Classic Gallagherism.

I'm not sure about these guys. I listened to their album on iTunes, granted it was just the 30 second previews which by no means tells the complete picture, but nothing really jumped out to me as something I want to explore more. I could be off base on this. They are getting a lot of buzz but I can't seem to feel it. Any suggestions? Right now they fall into that classic NME hype bands like Razorlight, Kaiser Chiefs, The Kooks, The Zutons,nThe View, The Enemy, The Vaccines, The Cribs, The Courteeners, etc.

As I said they're not a "NME hype band" because all the press hate them, bar the BBC. They got no help, if there's hype it's because of the fans who brought them to sell 30k tickets in minutes and kept the album in the Top 40 for a year now.
The second album will be - obviously - very important. Van said to fans it's far better than the first one, let's see. I think it's going to be released next year (they'll play new song before 2016)
Can't wait to see the in Milan
They have a strong connection with their fans, that's for sure.
Also I used to despise them (just look at the 1st or maybe 2nd page) until one day I saw Fallout's video on MTV Rocks and I don't know why I went back to listen to the album and my opinion completely changed

I like them. They're nothing spectacular but they're good at what they do. There's a couple of cracking tunes on that album.

They're like all that's left from indie rock, on sale, cheaper price, worse quality, tesco value.

Shows just how uninspiring this band are if the lead singer and songwriter thinks Don't Believe The Truth is a good album and Dave Sardy a good producer. I give them two years. Max. Then they'll be no more. Christ, just when you thought it couldn't get worse! Dave Sardy AND Catfish? Some bands and producers are just made for each other... Dan The Van needs to broaden his horizons judging by his cringe worthy media portrayal and music.

Everything we do now, the focus is on football stadiums. That is the drive. Everything that’s in front of that is just in the way. I never got to see the Stone Roses at Spike Island or Oasis at Knebworth. I got to see Arctic Monkeys at Lancashire Cricket Ground in Manchester, that was 66,000 on their second album, and that shit blew my head off. It changed my life.” www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/10/06/uk-s-buzziest-rock-band-seduces-america.htmlCatfish are currently playing their headline tour in the US of A. They'll end it playing the Terminal 5 in New York. Then the already sold out UK Tour will take place and we'll hear new material, apparently. Best moment! Apparently they cancelled their gig in Milan, 16 november. FFS.

Listening to Cocoon. I'm sold already enough to get the album right now. EDIT: Wow, this album tanked. Terrible reviews.

Also they clearly hate them, The Guardian in particular, besides BBC. When they won the BBC Award they started to get new fans because at that time the album was about to leave the chart after a couple of weeks, now it's still there after +50 weeks

Chasing Yesterday has a 68/100 rating on metacritic, same as One Direction's second album...that's how reliable "critics" are

To be fair, they are about as talented as One Direction.

To be honest, that was a harsh comparison.... I apologise to the lads in One Direction.

Damn it sucks that a lot of people hate them. They make really catchy pop rock just like Oasis and even sort of act like them in the tabloids. They have some really strong songs like Homesick, Fallout, Rango, and Tyrants. I don't get the hate!

I actually tried a few times to get into them cause i'd love a new british band with some cool tunes, but i don't buy it at all. Even started to think Jake Bugg isn't that bad after hearing them. Maybe they should call up his songwriting team to help them out with the new album or something ?
