This thread is fucking awesome... Thanks. No. Eva and her sexual adventures (told by Webcat & you) are fuckin' awesome. I think it's disgusting how you lot talk about Eva. Gentlemen never tell. What happened between me and Eva stays between me and Eva and her tennis coach, the barmaids, the out of work midget actor with narcolepsy, his doctor, the strippers and the Jewish taxidermist.

'Chasing Yesterday' is almost certainly an evolution of the unreleased collaboration album with Amorphous Androgynous. Noel claims that it contained 18 tracks and we know for a fact that some of the tracks on 'Chasing Yesterday' do indeed exist during that period. Amorphous Androgynous are almost certainly going to have contributed to at least some of these songs in someway and Noel seems to have cut them out of the picture. I think Gaz should rightly feel a little cheated if he gets no credit at all.

Saying that Gaz should get songwriting credits on CY because he at some point worked on versions of them is like saying he should have gotten credit for IIHAG, TDOYAM, and WAL from HFB1 because the AA album work on versions of those. And we all know how close IIHAG was to SAHITS. I would imagine that these versions of the songs that AA worked on are about as close to the AA versions as that. Does anyone think the AA should have a credit on IIHAG?So I don't think he should be morally or legally obliged to credit them if that is the case. As for it being "fair" that Noel should release what the AA did. No way. It was his project and he didn't like the product they delivered. People criticize when Oasis/Noel/BDI release poor products with reason, because in the end it's there decision that it was worth selling to their fans, but at least they give the impression that at least at the time they liked it. I would be very disappointed if BDI or Noel started releasing things that even they don't like. The ultimate insult to you fanbase IMHO. Not really. 'If I Had A Gun', 'The Death Of You And Me' and 'What A Life', we're written prior to Amorphous Androgynous remixing them for a collaboration album. I'd imagine several tracks for 'Chasing Yesterday' we're written, worked and developed during these sessions possibly with significant input by Amorphous Androgynous. Whether they deserve a contribution on certain songs (I'm speculating that 'The Right Stuff' could be one of them) or not depends on the significance of their contribution. I'd be amazed if the version of 'Chasing Yesterday' being released next year would sound quite like it does without the Amorphous Androgynous sessions having happened. If I remember correctly Noel said he had a batch of songs specifically for AA to work on. I believe he said they weren't songs per se and would be good for the AA project because they would give them more space to mess about rather than his typical structured songwriting. So, clearly we know that Noel had the songs, don't know if it was all 18, prior to him working with AA. The question is how much they changed with AA and how much Noel took away on his own. We'll never know unless we hear the AA album and do a comparison.

It's got like 18 tracks on it, some of it's krautrock, some of it's soul, some of it's funk and that's just the first song."

Which bit are you referring to? (To answer your "Where did you hear this?) If you mean the existence of the songs during these sessions: 'Lock All The Doors' is the reworking of a 1993 track. 'Revolution Song' has existed since 'SOTSOG' era. 'Freaky Teeth' exists from at least the 'NGHFB' era. 'Do The Damage' and 'Dying Of The Light' are heard on the 'NGHFB' documentary. 'Girl With The X-Ray Eyes' may also be left over from 'NGHFB' - I think I read that somewhere??? Certainly don't quote me on that one.The 'NGHFB' album was basically written at the end of Oasis career, as 'asimarx' has pointed out. I hope he doesn't mind quoting me quoting him a few times! I see him as a very respectable source who has done more than his fair share of research: "I can safely say that all tracks of Noel's debut album were written (and demoed) whilst Oasis were still together.""'Ballad of the Mighty I' was recorded during the AA session and a contender for the self-titled debut as well, according to the Steve Lamacq interview of yesterday."If the 'Ballad Of The Mighty I' was to appear, then I image more 'song-y' sort of tunes would too. I highly doubt it would have been 18 completely 'out there' sort of tunes.

You didny answer that. Just because they were considered or worked on for the project doesn't mean they were written with the AA in studio. Just the alternate versions were worked on and subsequently scrapped. Never heard anything to imply that. The only thing we heard about their origins was of songs being brought in by Noel to the AA. Noel has specifically said that he's never written anything in the same room as anyone. I don't believe that those sessions were about writing anything. I was given to understand they were written before and given to the AA to mess around in. For instance Freaky Teeth. There existed a demo and Noel gave it to the AA to work on. Presumably the Freaky Teeth to be released based off the demo and so will the rest be. If they are based off the demos why should the AA get a credit in that case? If he didn't use there canoodling/meandering bits they shouldnt get credit.

Alright In The Heat Of The Moment was one if the last songs he's written for the album, and it doesn't sound like something AA would do at all Revolution Song, TDOTL, Lock All The Doors are old ones, Do The Damage has been around since HFB1 too Riverman has been re-worked, so IF it was supposed to be on the AA album, it's not the same mix While The Song Remains The Same is a new one, cause he said he wrote it after a trip back to Manchester in 2013 I think
Then there are Freaky Teeth, Mighty I, The Right Stuff, The Mexican and You Know We Can't Go Back
We know the first two were supposed to be on the AA album, but were written before that, so if they want to be creditedfor something that's production, I doubt they want co-writing credits, what we don't know is he re-recorded them or kept them the way AA mixed them We don't know anything about The Mexican and You Know We Can't Go Back, while knowing The Right Stuff is "avant-guarde" and "really out there" that's probably the song Gaz is talking about

I had totally forgotten about the little clips of the Noel/AA version of The Death of You and Me right at the start and the end of the What a Life video. They don't really give you a good perception of how the full song might sound like, but you can kind of notice a Morricone/spaghetti western influence in the whistling.
While I don't want to inflame passions in the AA vs. Noel discussion, I thought this might be noteworthy, as this and Shoot a Hole into the Sun are basically all we have to built an opinion on.
