Now I've watched the video too. I didn't believe that it could be this bad, but it is. Much worse than the shoe commercial (EOTR), which is an achievement in itself (in a negative way). The best video Mike Bruce has done is TDOYAM, which was good and suited the mood of the song I think. It also had a nice ending that made me curious for the rest of the videos. But that's just one video. IIHAG was really boring and uninspirational, WAL was half-decent and half-poor but still amusing/interesting in a way, and EOTR was cringeworthy shoe commercial that didn't suit the majestic song it accompanied at all. In total Mike Bruce has shown very few signs that he is capable of making music videos of good quality. I know the video for Do The Damage was supposed to be used for ITHOTM and had to be re-cut, but still, you're responsible for the product you make. Noel's managment probably wanted to use the footage in some way so it wouldn't be a waste of money, but considering how it has been recieved I'm not sure if it was worth it. They say that all publicity is good publicity, but releasing a terrible video for b-side (which IMO is not very good) may not be the best way to convince fans to buy the single, or for people who don't know Noel's music to check out more of his stuff.

hm...i have to say that -imo- its the best nghfb video so far!!!
actually its a bad one, like watching a cult/b movie or something, but that felling somehow makes it more interesting, dare to say cool and funny!
much better than the "boring to death" official ITHOTM video.

Can't disagree more. It's not like a cult B-movie at all, it's proper trashcan-shite which does not fit the mood of the song at all. It desperately wants to be something like a B-movie, but it fails miserably. I'd take a dull performance video over that CRAP any day. |

I posted this on a thread on a completely different forum and one American member gave it and the song 9/10 and another said they've since looked up the HFB and have become obsessed. So there you go, we find it horrific but we're not the ones these things are really designed for, it's to grab the attention of new people.
