Okay so reading the comments I was like "surely it can't be that bad"....... I was right, it was worse. It's horrendous and who the fuck is the sleazy guy? He looks like he needs a slap, where's Liam when you need him. That's what I thought as well: ''Oh it probably isn't that bad, I want to see it for myself'', because everyone was complaining about ITHOTM too, but that was alright compared to shit like WAL!, EOTR, IIHAG and TDOYAM, just a performance video, no nonsense, but this one, this utter pile of shite, this is worse than I could ever have imagined. FFS, do a Tony McCarroll on that Mike Bruce guy already. |

The video is alright. It just wasn't exactly my cup of tea, though. But it was alright.
The fact of the matter, b-side videos were a thing back in the 60s and so on. It's strange though that Noel wanted to do a b-side video. But his music is under his power, so if you don't like it, why? You know? .. Why watch?

It's just very very likely the management didn't wanr to put the already shot footage for the ITHOTM video in the bin. So they just recycled it and got Mike Bruce, who's admittedly, quite apparent, completely untalented at shooting a simple comprehensible and acceptable rock music video, to re-cut it again to match Do The Damage. Hence you can notice the ITHOTM vinyl spinning on the turntable.
Again, I agree, I was trying to be patient with this guy, but this is utter shit, any way. There comes a moment when you ask yourself if it's actually Noel's or Ignition's fault that all his videos (and pretty much all Oasis bar a few) are almost unwatchable. I don't know, they should dig out someone like Anton Corbijn next time for "Mighty I"...Spike Jonze (who almost directed a video for Stand By Me), Michel Gondry...at least someone who's capable of making an acceptable, uncringey music video. What's Nigel Dick up to nowadays?
From a fans point of view, I just demand the videos to be viewable in a way that is representative. But what on earth had the NGHFB videos so far had in common with the music itself? They might as well could get Liam starring in it, this wouldn't be less ludicrous.

Only decent Noel/Oasis video in recent years is The Importance of Being Idle. That's it.
D'You Know What I Mean is good, All Around The World has a certain charm to it also. Shakermaker, Whatever, Wonderwall are all pretty decent too.

Then the video starts on the TV. It's something about roller derby. A couple of times one of the girls gets sparkly roller skates from a creepy man in a pimp car. And at the end some sort of smoke things ignites on the back of one of the roller blades and she passes one of the opposite team. Yeah...it's as stupid as it sounds Did I forget anything? |
