I'll just say that as a veteran of the business, Noel's album is doing just fine in the charts. It's hard to keep up with the young & fresh artists, mainly because a vast majority of those who are paying for music are young...young, and don't actually love music enough to search for anything beyond what's "in" right now.
When it comes to making $ from music, there are two factors 1.) Being cool/sexy/headline worthy 2.) Being talented
When Oasis hit the scene, they were a cool bunch of youngsters, always in the headlines for rowdy behavior, fronted by a handsome singer. Whether or not we want to admit it, that hype probably sold a few million albums alone. But what Oasis ALSO had was pure talent in the songwriting department. Even after the hype faded (as it does with EVERYONE), the true fans stuck around, and passed on the fandom to younger brother/son/daughter etc... The 30 million people who bought Morning Glory were vastly youngsters listening to what was "in." After the hype died, the 2-5 million people who bought each subsequent album were the true fans. And let me tell you, that's a huge, huge hardcore fan base. Still selling over a million copies of your new album after all the dust has settled? That's legend status. That's Noel.

Out of interest how many records a week do you need to sell to chart between 10-15 each week? Chart wise he is certainly hanging around a while which must be a good sign.

And good era for CY too! Let's keep it in the top 25 by july and the festival season will do the rest!

The reason streaming been included into the charts is because its a very popular way people get their music / singles now. Obviously as more people are getting singles via streaming the proportion of sales become smaller so any sales will get you higher in the sales chart.
