Number one with 89k sold...nine out of nine What did the first album sell first week? 120k I think Considering how much that one was promoted compared to this, and how much sales numbers have dropped,89k is pretty good!

I still think he needed about 10k more. Considering he had 5 months worth of presale going in and part of that was through Christmas, 89k is disappointing, even in the current market. It's going to be difficult for him to get to platinum imo. Which considering the last album got to near triple platinum is especially disappointing.

He'll get there edventually,T in The Park and the whole festival season will give him a boost

On a side note, Noel is holding on pretty well in the US. Could be a decent charting.
53 for Amazon mp3 32 for Amazon physical 35 iTunes
I think he ends up at #22 in the US

Id like to see this album push 500k.

Let's not all pretend that was through festivals. Festivals play a role, but like HFB, that album got a boost through festivals and the fact that WAL was inesscapable. The festivals will get him to platinum, but not much more IMO.

It wasn't just through fesival obviously,as Do I Wanna Know was a massive hit,but Glasto helped a lot I can see TDOTL/YKWCGB doing well as singles and helping sales, but time will tell

And Velociraptor sold around 94k first week,so even the drop in sales is equal,it's just the market that has been falling off in the last few years

Noel no1 great news, don't care about how many records he's sold, means nothing or effects none of us at all, not sure what fascination is with some that even care about whether he sells more in festivals and so on, it's a great album, main things is majority of fans think so, and it's been very well receieved by respected media. A success in charts & reviews is nice but meaningless end of day, Adele, Beiber, 1 Direction sell a shit load and they are shite, so means f all.
