Yes, and you're very lucky because he's playing loads of dates there even if the average capacity where he plays is like 1800. At Belfast and Dublin combined basically he played in front of more people than in the whole US tour.

Not shocked! With the no portal to see music videos really anymore, www.youtube.comYes YouTube... But you have to type in Noel Gallagher... If anyone new is going to get into Noel like we got into oasis, it would be difficult. You go on front page of YouTube it's mostly just pop music.

US ITUNES chart #26-CY #25-Nevermind-Nirvana ?? Lol #33 on Amazon physical. #25 for mp3. It'll probably dip out of the top 30, maybe top 40 for all today. Will make for a very interesting charting.

The Yanks turned away because of massively long singles during BHN, changing musical trends socially and SOTSOG being way too dark without a catchy single. In a span of four years they wen from "Wonderwall" to "Where Did It All Go Wrong" which was a U.S. radio single. Sadly America said "Check please!".

From what I recall oasis were on the verge of breaking America big time when the incident happened with Liam at the Mtv awards around the time champagne supernova was out.

It was when Bonehead and Guigs left. All the sex appeal from the band was gone.

From what I recall oasis were on the verge of breaking America big time when the incident happened with Liam at the Mtv awards around the time champagne supernova was out. In my humble opinion that when September 1996 rolled around, Oasis had broken America. They already sold a million copies of Definitely Maybe, Morning Glory had sold 4 million copies and the band landed MTV Unplugged and MTV VMA performances. That's big time stuff right there. They didn't hold on to their footing however. They were able to ride this commercial wave into Be Here Now but that album failed to produce a radio/TV hit and Oasis' American slide started in the winter of 1997 despite selling a million copies. If you add up all Oasis albums between 2000 and 2008 they fail to combine to a million sales in America.

I really don't understand how WAL can be a hit but the similar but better in every way Mighty I cant? It's rhytmic and atmospheric like WAL but the chorus is much better, much catchier and more singalong. It also builds in the bridge beautifully. I seriously don't get why the gp took to WAL but not The Mighty I?
Is it just because WAL was played in that advert and BOTMI hasn't had the same promotion?

If you add up all Oasis albums between 2000 and 2008 they fail to combine to a million sales in America. I remember vividly MTV Unplugged when Kurt Loder introduced it and basically called out Liam and said this was a tour de force for Noel and they would pan over to Liam smoking and drinking in the balcony with Patsy...I think that turned off a lot of people and then Liam spitting at the VMAs...
it obviously didn't turn me off hahaha but that's really when I started to hear the "That band is full of assholes" comment and no one wanted to deal with them anymore.

Friday update 1 Noel Gallagher chasing yesterday 73.2 k He's going to need a lot of sales over the next two days to make 90k. He's averaging about 7k per day. That's marking him for about 87k. He has to get that average up to 8.5k over today and tomorrow to make 90k.

I always thought oasis fell short in America and Canada when Liam spit on the stage after singing in champagne supernova at the Mtv awards. The next day at school everybody was saying how disrespectful and gross that was. It was gross tho

Netherlands: #8 Belgium #7 WOAH. HFB1 peaked at #11 if I'm correctly, so great. Of course that doesn't have to mean CY sold more in it's first week since the industry changed so much but still, a top 10 album. Go Noely G!
