So, Midweek update NGHFB 94k CY 59k If we use HFB's as an example then Noel can only expect 35k extra sales from here on out. Making his total around 94-100k. Which makes sense. He did pick up 11k from the previous update. He averages that today through Saturday then that's 44k sales. So, 105-110k sales. So, he'll be about 94-110k. Somewhere in that 15k sales range. Like to see him break 100k, personally. With market reductions since 2011, a 10- 20k sale drop would make sense. Market is 12% down from 2011 apparently so 120K to 100K sound about right. Does he have any big promo planned? I seem to remember a Saturday night Jonathan Ross appearance last time around which did well to stabilize for the second week

He might break the 80,000 mark before Sunday. That would be very good

Lol, I wouldn't be surprised if Beady Eye are the reason music sales globally dropped in recent years, albums are enough to send anyone off music : ) Charts & sales don't matter but it's still good to see Noel doing so well. Have you ever discussed a band you disliked so much? Have you always had a tendency toward being snide? Is it not a bad sign that you consistently compare your hero to a band YOU apparently consider the lowest common denominator? Was a joke, I don't mind Beady Eye that much, like them more than some on here, just my opinion. This is a place for opinions, if you don't like someone else's then I suggest you stay off somewhere where people express opinions. If you don't like it because someone likes/dislikes something tough isn't it, maybe need to grow up a little and stop taking yourself so seriously. If someone said Beady Eye had better albums than Noel I wouldn't care, its an opinion. Cheer up.

You express it ad nauseam even when the band you mention has nothing to do with thread in question. You have already been brought up on it but you still do it so I was just wondering why. As you say everyone is entitled to an opinion and everyone is also entitled to question why you have that opinion, which I did. As for the questions I asked you I think the answers are pretty clear. No, Yes, Yes.

I'd go Yes (RHCP are awful, mate of mine is a big fan and we always take p1ss out of each other - he hates Oasis) No - I don't mean to come across that way, just my opinion which I guess some don't like, some agree, some wont. No - I'd say its a legit comparison, since split of Oasis. Each to own on who people prefer. I don't hate Beady Eye at all, people on here dislike them a lot more than I do.

You do come across that way. I think the point that's constantly grating people. Many who already said something to you is that you shoe horn a dig at liam or beady eye no matter what the subject is. "do you like chinese or indian food more?" "indian is great and isn't liam a cock" When the criticism is due and relevant sure nobody will blink a beady eye

Btw I prefer Chinese food : )

Like i said above when its relevant dig away it's fine. Its just easy to find yourself in a boy who cried wolf situ ( wrong analogy but you get the idea)

Some people do get bit bogged down with sales, as long as hes selling enough to do another album then all good, and he certainly is that. Oasis were always a band that basically sold just about all copies in 1st week, because Oasis fans bought them all, with Noel seems different, his first solo record hung about for ages, think this one will too.

Sorry thats sounded bad and i know i annoy people round here myself, with lifeless essay posts haha. Yeah i agree oasis had their fan base who would front load their sales in that first week or two and the albums would lack momentum long term (then live they'd sell out stadiums on strength of their greatest hits) HFB defo paved a good route, 5 singles that were different enough sound to oasis (and were a variety of songs themselves) that defo appealed more mass market / different demographic to oasis. Id say most people who bought HFB will undoubtedly pick up CY at some point CY again has such a scope of songs on it if we get 5 singles. ITHOTM, BOTMI, TDOTL, YKWCGB, TRS. The album will keep that momentum the same

I wonder how much the push from CY will effect the debut albums sales figures?
Do we have an up to date figure for UK / Worldwide sales?
As of "January 2, 2013 the album has sold 739,000 copies in the UK" (according to wikipedia)

The slide for Noel in the US has begun. He's #18 on ITunes, #21 for CD&vinyl sales on Amazon, #25 for mp3 sales on Amazon.
This will probably be the final day that he'll have decent placings. That's going to equal a lukewarm charting. Unless presales carry him the rest of the way. You'd like to see him in the Top 30 in all three for the next two days. However, that would be difficult if not impossible to maintain without some kind of push or promotional sale here.

With the absense of good alternative radio and no portal to see music videos really anymore, it's very difficult for guitar music to really do much these days. We are also running into now have a generation buying music that for the most part, doesn't know who oasis is or was at all!!!

At least last time he pushed IIHAG here a bit and got pretty decent radioplay. This time, nothing. The US market doesn't seem to be on his radar, at least promotionally, save for a few interviews.

People in America barely bought Oasis albums after 1997. Noel Gallagher is a drop in the ocean for us in 2015.
