There's somethin' major happened behind the scenes for this to happen I think. Big step splittin' a band up, they could have surely just took an extended break. Bass player will be delighted he quit Kasabian for Beady Eye now... I mentioned that last part over a year ago. Jumping off a successful band like Kasabian to join a band that many people said would split in the next 2-3 years wasn't wise. Who knows. He might have had a falling out with Serge and Tom. Poor Jay. As for the people calling other members names because they'd like to see Oasis reform: why? Why can't people do so? Why do you have to offend them? I personally don't care either way. If they don't, that's fine, if they do, it's fine, but Liam would need to fix his voice before I could be bothered to go. Anyway, can't see it happen. As for Noel not pushing himself creatively: we know what kind of songs Noel writes. What did you expect? Experimental artsy fartsy bullshit?

When do we expect the inevitable Beady Eye greatest hits album to hit the shelves? Mine would go a little something like this....... Four Letter Word Millionaire The Roller Bring The Light Wigwam The Morning Son Flick of The Finger Soul Love Second Bite of The Apple I'm Just Saying Shine A Light Start Anew Off At The Next Exit Girls In Uniform Evil Eye Sons of The Stage So when can we expect and what bonuses will we have on DGSS re issue ? An alligator shaped lighter would be cool.

They could've at least played oasis songs they wrote. I could not AGREE more. If they had to play Oasis songs, show some spine and play the ones you guys actually wrote. So many good Oasis LAG tunes to pull from. Such as..... - Born On A Different Cloud - Songbird - Turn Up The Sun - Eyeball Tickler - I'm Outta Time - Boy With The Blues FUCKING Eyeball Tickler!! Why did they never play their own songs live? Would have been a great Beady Eye single.

Pretty gutted tbh. I enjoyed both albums and they were excellent live. I hope we here more from Liam and maybe the NME interview will give us a better insight into what's been happening.
Nice to see the usual suspects in this thread delighting in break up of something other people like or patronising them because they didn't like the music. Good work lads.

Wtf..I really enjoyed their music, played BE songs non stop last year.
I just hope Liam doesnt stop making music, hopefully he can really focus on a good solo album. If he really puts his mind to it he can create a fantastic album. Just look at his work so far..I'm Outta time, Songbird, Start anew, (imo) Love like a bomb etc etc
+ a few collaborations with capable people and he can become relevant again.
This is his best way forward imo, especially if Noel isn't up for a reunion.
RIP Beady Eye..a very under-rated band!

A song that could perfectly describe this split is Kasabian's Goodbye Kiss

Start off be seeing what can be done about his voice..resting it, warming it up and speaking to experts to see if it can be improved in any other way. Then working with the people you mentioned would be great cos lets face it, if he did release a shitty solo album he'd never be able to recover from that (musically)

I don't even bother reading that shit to be honest. There's a big difference in going on something to post your respect or regret and going on something solely to be bitter or slag something off.

Flick of The Finger Soul Love I'm Just Saying Four Letter Word Off At the Next Exit The Morning Son
All excellent songs, better than the general public would give them credit for. Most of those songs could have been b-sides during Oasis' peak, which is high praise.
There was just too much backward looking dross on both albums for me to get overly excited about Beady Eye, but they gave it their best, and produced some very worthy music. And put on a fine live show when I saw them come through Toronto in 2011, Liam charismatic as ever, even in front of an audience one tenth of size he played for in Oasis.
Hope to see all of the guys resurface soon. Yes, even Andy Bell.

Exactly people brought up the right way know ' if you haven't got anything nice to say nothing at all' glad that sort of stuff happens just on random news sites and not on sites that fans come together on(?)

I don't think today should really be about whether Beady Eye succeeded or failed or how or why they might have fallen "short" (though I don't believe they fell short). I believe some of the comments being made in this thread are quite frankly in poor taste. A section of this forum has just lost it's second band in five years. That's not something to be derided and lampooned. Though Beady Eye didn't mean much to me, it meant a lot to a ton of people I feel bad for those who first had to deal with the loss of Oasis and now Beady Eye. I spent today listening to a bit of Beady Eye. I didn't want to comment. I just wanted to listen. A few things stuck out in my mind as I was listening: 1.) I still regret not seeing them when they came to Chicago a few years back. At the time I was broke and just didn't have the cash to make the gig. It was a great venue, the Metro. I never got a chance to see Oasis and now I'll never have the chance to see Beady Eye. I've been an Oasis fan for going on seven years now and I've never seen Liam perform live. Probably one of my all-time favorite singers. I probably never will have the chance to see him perform. At the time I thought there'd be other days. What I didn't know was that was the only day. I still wished they had tour America during the BE tour, at least for the sake of American fans. There will be a section of the fanbase that has not only never seen Oasis perform, but Liam in general. That is something worth taking note of. 2.) As I said, I could never say that was an out and out fan of Beady Eye. I supported because they were part of Oasis and wanted to see them succeed. I bought their singles and DGSS along with BE (which I have on vinyl with a nice poster to boot ). However, for anyone to say that they didn't produce some good tunes, and I do mean good tunes, is pretty strong hate. Over the two albums I did enjoy Four Letter Word, The Roller, Wigwam, World Outside my Room, In a Bubble with a Bullet, Flick of the Finger, Soul Love, musically Second Bite of the Apple is brilliant, Ballroom Figured, and Evil Eye. Many bands would kill for a nice collection of songs like that. At times Beady Eye's music was uneven, but the band itself was never boring. They were like the Sisyphus of bands. Forever pushing up the boulder up the hill, having some high points and low points, but never giving up on the idea that they could survive. That should commended and respected. 3.) Lastly, I think it was fitting that just as with Oasis ending with Soldier On, that the extended version of BE ended with Evil Eye, once again, a Liam written tune. It was the perfect song to close out the band in terms of theme and sound. It sounds like what Beady Eye were. A good swan song to an old story with a stubborn belief that there could be a new one written right around the corner if one could just keep holding on. R.I.P. Beady Eye.
