Let's kick off this new album properly. Here is a new track called "Oceans". Has a very nice Parachutes feel in my opinion. A good thing.

Zane Lowe has got a big interview with Chris Martin on R1 next Monday. I believe while not full track by track they will be playing parts of all album songs

Is it just me or is there just not enough of a buzz around this upcoming album? Same can be said for Kasabian really, all a bit quiet for my liking.

They are coming off of their worst album album to date. The subtle release with hopefully be matched with subtle music. Coldplay has a bad habit of too much excess. I hope this album will be a return to earth after all the lasers, shit graffiti, and poor concepts. Coldplay is alright when they shoot for the stars but they are better when they a lay back on the grass and look up to them instead. Oceans is decent, kinda hard to tell much from an early live performance. My fear going into this album is that it just might be too bland with all the atmospherics. The songs on Parachutes were laid back but the songs were well written.

Oceans is a bit meh for me, it's nice but it doesn't seem to go anywhere, it's just an acoustic performance though, so I'll wait to judge

This album is shaping up to be a nice surprise after the style-over-substance Mylo Xyloto.

Both are coming off rather flat albums, I don't think Kasabian have released anything of worth since their debut imo. But Coldplay I've always rated as a band although their last album was a bit of a disappointment in a creative sense although it sold millions. It seems they are going for the creative rather then the commercial for this album, it would be a nice change. If it can reach the greatness of Parachutes, AROBTTH or Viva la Vida then it be a nice welcome.

This album is shaping up to be a nice surprise after the style-over-substance Mylo Xyloto. I like Magic a lot, a return to what made them great in the first place. Like Midnight and Oceans too. Yeah it's got a nice laidback vibe going on to this material. Here's hoping it's another great album to add to their collection.

I think Magic is a brilliant tune, there's this live performance of another tune called Anothers Arms that I'm a big fan of too. Midnight is also a great track.
They played another live tune called Always in My Head, along with Oceans. A bit sceptical about these two to be honest, I find them in all honesty quite dull. Perhaps the studio versions may redeem it, but it seems a bit like forcing their sound back to Parachutes, rather than being inspired by it.

^ I can't believe someone would break Chris' promise of not leaking that! Whoever did that is just the worst, really. BTW, it really sounds like this.

I'm really liking the production on this album - Mark Stent mixed it.
Just saying Noel....

For example Avicii was at the controls for A Sky Full of Stars. Seems as if it's going to be more eclectic than previously thought. Not into Avicii but that tune sounds mega - it's all about the song structure and melody and it seems to have quality there. That last tune 'O' sounds amazing too, classic Coldplay, far more soulful than anything of the last album, and maybe Viva La Vida.

Very good interview with Zane Lowe. Some interesting facts revealed.
- They won't tour this album that much compared to the last previous tours. Want it to be a smaller record.
- Avicii produced one song. Like Kanye, Coldplay have used several producers to get their final product.
- Chris' children (Apple and Moses, and their friend Mabel) supply guest backing vocals for 3 songs.
- There will be bonus songs on the Target edition of the album: All Your Friends, Ghost Story and O (Part 2 Reprise)
- There is a hidden track after "O" of Chris, Apple and Mabel singing over a heavenly orchestral arrangement.
