Gave the new Allah-La's album a new listen. I found their debut it be a really solid set of songs. Nothing revolutionary but they had a great sound, vibe, and the songs had catchy melodies. It had couple nice instrumentals in there as well, it was a consistent listen all the way through. This new one Worship the Sun is really lacking. It is 14 songs long and after my first listen I can honestly say that not even the highlights stack up to the solid songs on their debut. A really lackluster and bland album. I was worried about where they were going to go after their debut and this album has confirmed my fears. It is a monotonous listen that has weak songwriting and hooks.
Maybe it is a grower but right now this has to be the biggest disappointing album I've heard this year.

I'm gonna give a listen to the new Spoon album. I would go to see them at Lodnon Calling in November, but I'll be in an another venue on same day.

6 more Steven Wilson albums this year (5 remasters and a solo record)! The guy needs to sleep sometime.

Weller self is a huge fan of them, that's why he let them support his Royal Albert Hall gigs in 2010. I discovered them at London Calling in 2010. Truly fantastic band. Because of them, I just found a talented singer songwriter called Samantha Crain. She'll share the same gig with them in October. You can listen to her songs on her official website. I think you gonna like her too, matt. samanthacrain.com/music

Quite a few albums coming out within the next month or two that I'm looking forward to, namely Courteeners next week and Royal Blood the week after. I'll give Johnny Marr, Alt-J, Pulled Apart By Horses, Twin Atlantic, Interpol and Death From Above 1979's new ones a listen as well.

Gonna buy the new Erland and The Carnival album today or tomorrow (if not, on Monday or Tuesday) which will be out on Monday.
October has 2 releases I'm really looking forward to:
- My forever guitar hero's second solo album - The Twilight Sad's 4th album.
October can't come quick enough!

Bob Dylan is finally releasing the original recordings of the "Basement Tapes" from 1967. That's a lot of DYLAN!!!! From Pitchfork.com................
Bob Dylan has announced The Basement Tapes Complete: The Bootleg Series Vol. 11, a forthcoming six-disc set that compiles âevery salvageable recordingâ from his famous 1967 sessions with the Band. As the story goes, Dylan and the Band holed up in upstate New York to record a number of original songs, traditional numbers, and covers. After floating around in bootleg form, a selection of those recordings were eventually released as 1975's The Basement Tapes. But now, the Band's Garth Hudson and music archivist Jan Haust have cleaned up the original recordings and arranged them chronologically, according to Hudson's numbering system. A 38-song selection will also be issued as The Basement Tapes Raw. You can check out both tracklists below. It's out November 4, via Legacy Recordings.
