New single from The Black Keys "Turn Blue". People are talking about Noel leaving Sardy, but the Black Keys need to switch up the production. I'm a fan Danger Mouse's production but the guy literally has one sound/style. Everything from Broken Bells to Norah Jones they all have the fuzzy, cartoony, laid back sound. The Black Keys have become increasing more neutered with each release. El Camino was made up from recycled t-rex riffs which is nice enough if you want some guitar riff-age but they just don't rock anymore on record. I was never their biggest fan but damn they've kinda taken the place of Kings Of Leon in a sense that they are a good rock band that just lost it whenever they hit the big time. Not uncommon, I know but still disappointing. It's not a bad song but I can't be fucked to listen to it. Well to be fair to Danger Mouse, he only fully produced one Black Keys album (Attack & Release). He only produced 1 song off Brothers (Tighten Up) and helped with 1-2 tracks off El Camino. However, I can see what you are saying. Great comparison to Kings of Leon. When those guys crashed and burned, the Black Keys picked up the gauntlet. America seems to want scruffy southern rockers as their default rock band.

That new LDR song produced by Auerbach sounds a lot like Danger Mouse. They've learned his tricks pretty well. Yeah sad thing is the both live in Nashville now, and everyone is like "Nashville has rock!" meh not really country still rules but at least we have Jack White.

Can't say there's anything new I'm looking forward to. I'm always catching up on older music I never knew about and discovering music that's new to me but is still 30 years old.

I've been to Coachella (2012) and yeah I'd agree it is full of rich california douche bags. A lot of EDM bros with tank tops, and sorority girls that dress up like "hippies", really its just a 100$ shirt from American apparel or Urban Outfitters. People to Coachella are there to been seen/see famous people and to post on instagram. I'll never forgot watching the Weeknd in his first US performance in 2012 and I was surrounded by coke/molly induced bros and their slutty girl friends who just screamed the lyrics in the entire time in that annoying drunk girl fashion. They seemed to embrace the persona of the music, it totally went over there heads. I wouldn't got these people music fans by any means. This article is another laugh and decently accurate. noisey.vice.com/blog/the-basic-bitches-guide-to-coachella-2014

Everyone should go out and download the free itunes single (at least in the US) its from The Orwells and it is called "who needs you". They are a damn solid rock n' roll band and I think these guys aren't even able to legally drink yet. It's nothing mind blowing but its a good little rock song and they are a really underrated band. I can see them getting bigger if they can keep up the tunes.

Or is it that she just has some form of superiority complex? She tried really, really hard to be funny but just came across as a pretentious hipster arsehole. Then I looked at her Twitter, I really don't like throwing around the word hipster, but she is one, or is trying desperately hard to be one.

The Wombats are coming out with a new album this year, apparently.
Nothing special about them, but I do enjoy their two albums. Was able to see them live in DC a couple years back.

Since i heard WTSMG never look forward to any new album with the same excitment as before. I used to be a general good music enthusiast. I was listening to many different stuff from White Stripes to fuckin' Pantera. The day i heard Supersonic on VH1 somewhere around 2005 i knew that this is it, best thing i've ever heard, ubeatable to this day. I'm aware of the fact that i'll never hear anything better than that. Looking forward to new FF's record this year though
