The Rapture and Trail of The Dead. [br Echoes' is all I remember of The Rapture, that f*cking horrible distortion at the beginning used to do my head in.

Oh and before I forget, couple of bands that can go on here that I think have been missed: Kaiser Chiefs The Frattelis Hard-Fi The Cribs Franz Ferdinand Muse Snow Patrol Weezer Fin. Snow patrol definitely, one of my favourite bands and they have a lot of great, unknown songs like How to be dead, ask me how I am and Same but recently they've become quite shite...still have some good songs though like New York

leaving new York was a classic, bad day was great, daysleeper, at my most beautiful, imitation of life, all the way to reno, and some great album tracks. guess we're all different. Yep .. All those you mentioned there were some nice tunes on. ....but point is to me , nowhere near as many or as good as there heyday in 80 s when they were not the " it band " that's all , back then they had go great tunes track after track .....to me ....... Not now ,

It got universally panned when released I decided to ignore it all those years ago but am willing to give it a chance at your command. That album cover looks ridiculous.

Have you ever heard the album Before These Crowded Streets? Its one of my favorite albums. Very dark. Not like any of their other albums.

....and i disagree with the killers. i wasn't into 'day and age' too much, but i love 'battle born'. maybe it's all those sappy ballads on there, am i getting old?

Pearl Jam, love their early stuffs and til Yield they were a decent band, but I can't stand their last 5 albums, only Riot Act has some interesting stuffs, but the others are all more of the same, but flat and souless, yeah there are some nice songs here and there, but overall you won't miss any of those.

The Goo Goo Dolls (yes, they're still around). And yes, feel free to make fun of me, I don't care. Their early albums (Superstar Carwash, A Boy Named Goo, Dizzy Up The Girl) are still great. Then it went steadily downhill, which pains me--lyrics are totally uninspired now and they don't have the catchy hooks and melodies they used to have.
Those who said Green Day--I agree.
